Peyton didn’t know how she’d survived her senior year at Auradon Prep without Kaz. Now that they were sort of fighting, she didn’t know what to do with herself, and she’d taken to clinging to the most random of people to try and keep herself occupied. Those people included Princess Chloe Florian, whose shyness made it easy for Peyton to talk a mile a minute until the older girl was convinced to join her in the rec room for watching a movie. And, since Peyton seemed to not want to let Chloe get a word in edgewise, she went ahead and proposed the first movie as well, rather than deferring to Chloe’s ideas. “I’ve got a bootleg copy of She Loves Me, which I know doesn’t typically make Christmas classic lists, but a lot of the plot of the musical involves Christmas. And my recording is from the Zachary Levi run, so I just know you’ll enjoy it,” Peyton insisted, although there was a slight plea in her tone. Please enjoy it, her mind begged. She needed to feel like someone wanted her around.

Ben: You're 21 now, it COULD be someone's dad, that's not the craziest thing I've ever suggested.

Ben: You're my first priority, Chlo, who would I possibly be close enough to want to tell your secrets to? (Mal doesn't count since she's my girlfriend now, right? Am I allowed to tell her things?)

Ben: Ooooooh. Really? After all this time? I guessed that when we were 10 but I finally gave up when I turned 18 and it still hadn't happened!

Jimmy had told Chloe to meet him right outside at noon so they could head to lunch and exchange gifts before he headed home for the holidays. No funny business, he’d promised, but after years and years of the Florian and Dubois families being so close, Chloe should know that Jimmy had a very different definition of funny business than most people around. While he’d been waiting for the princess, he’d been slowly packing snowballs together and layering them on top of the bench he was standing in front of, an unfair amount of ammo just ready and waiting to greet his friend. And there she was; the door to the castle cracked open and she stepped out, all bundled up and prepared for the weather. Good. It made him feel slightly less guilty about what came next. With an impish grin, Jimmy picked up one of the snowballs with a gloved hand, and lobbed it softly at Chloe, a warning shot that deliberately landed right in front of her instead of hitting her dead on. “Might wanna put your stuff down... I’ve got a lot more where that came from!” he called out to her, hoping that Chloe would let loose and fight back instead of protesting his surprise idea of fun.
