Meet [ CHO, GAEUN ], a [ 17 ] year old [ MUGGLEBORN ] wizard/witch. Born as a [ BRITISH-KOREAN ], [ CRESSIDA ] is currently attending as a [ 7TH ] year in the [ HUFFLEPUFF ] house.
: / / student's traits & personality
Cressida’s mind is rarely her own. It is most often occupied by others; her friends, her family and her team. The needs of those she loves, especially her fellow Hufflepuffs, are placed far before her own and she’d risk limb and life to protect them. Thus, she is often seen as a reliable and very extroverted person, who is not only warm yet loyal. Her leadership qualities are best showcased on the Quidditch pitch and she considers her team an extension of herself.
Her disposition only shifts when she is in the company of someone unpleasant (i.e: rude slytherins), and it is in these situations that a beast seems to be hiding inside the beauty. Cressida’s tongue is sharp enough to combat even the most cynical of comments. If one were to threaten her companions, she’d tear them apart without hesitation.
But only after they throw the first punch of course;
a Hufflepuff always fights fair.
: / / character background
Magic flows through you - ;
Muggleborn and raised, the notion of fairies and magic were always a fantasy; make-believe. Like many young girls, she dreamed of tiaras and escaping to enchanted castles and her mother would tell her these fairytales every night before her eyelashes fluttered to a close. Yet something unbelievable occurred right before her eleventh birthday, as if it had been pulled right out of her storybooks. She no longer had to imagine the magic— it was within her, intertwined with her blood.
Born as Cho Gaeun, her British-Korean parents named her Cressida. Little did they know of course, that the meaning of her name, Golden, would become such an important coincidence. She grew well and tall in England, finding an interest in sports and interacting with the children in her neighbourhood. She excelled socially and academically, and she loved her little sister more than anything in the entire world.
Clover was three years younger and just as exuberant, yet she was cursed with incurable sickness. It tortured Cress to watch her sibling suffer and a piece of herself (or perhaps several) died with Clover when she passed.
The world seemed darker, less magical.
The letter arrived and despite the initial confusion and worry, her parents agreed to send Cressida away to Hogwarts; the magical castle she had always dreamed of.
Hogwarts; the new beginning - ;
She must have been sorted into Hufflepuff for a reason, she must have been gifted this incredible power for a cause.
"You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true,
And unafraid of toil.”
The first years were spent finding herself. This new world was daunting, but the young witch seemed to be quite a natural. As she aged and matured, she began to follow the ways of a Hufflepuff more strictly. Cressida found that the more she cared about the wellbeing of others, the happier she became. Thus, her popularity soared and she found friends in many places, although the Hufflepuffs were always her true family.
And she hated the stigma placed upon her house; Cressida wanted to scream from the towers that there was no better house than hers! She defended Hufflepuff with tooth and nail (fights with other students were common for her in her fourth year), shielding her fellow housemates from the harsh words. Eventually, she found another outlet; Quidditch. Being a chaser was exhilarating— the crowd cheering you on. Nothing made her more happy. As the years passed, so did her rank. And as her seventh year came forth, so did the captaincy of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team.
Oh, how Clover would love this, how she would love to fly through the clouds!
From the concrete jungles of suburbia, to a magical castle in the mountains, her spirit remains just, her heart remains true, For she is as hard as a dragon’s tooth, yet gentle as a mother’s kiss. Protector of the kind; with a crown of glistening gold.
