Im on the first ep of Fanta G Spot and - its a WINNER

I'll be back with my collected thoughts because i have so many thoughts and feelings! (4 eps binged later)

first of all i'm adding the link to this show, that's how much i REALLY want you to watch this drama.

Where do I start 😩 this drama has some of the most realistic dialogues and issues i have ever witnessed in a kdrama, like fr fr it's incredible.

Fanta G-spot is about 2 young women in their 30s who navigate sex and dating, their work place prompts them to do a podcast that deals with sex issues (such as not cumming but your partner does, and hormonal surges during menstruation etc.)

The first FL is hani from exid (HER ACTING IS AMAZING HERE and i love that shes still hani though, like all her cute mannerisms are incorporated into her character making it even more natural ) hani is in a 5 year relationship and realizes she is missing out on orgasms, she tries to talk to her bf about this but he gets extremely defensive about using any sex toys or tools which exposes a giant flaw in their relationship. The entire progression of their separation and the dialogue is *chefs kiss* beautiful, realistic, raw and so important. I wont spoil too much about her journey but it is incredible her journey is even made visible but HEY 2023 came in clutch 🙌🏾🙌🏾 female pleasure, amirite~

The second FL is bae woohee from Dal shabet (she looked familiar!) - her acting is also impeccable i swear, all of the acting, despite the very blatant and explicit sexual themes is so natural but still filled with comedic timing and relatability. Woohee plays a lady who is invested in casual sex but with high standards. She has clear boundaries when it comes to relationship definitions for FWB etc and the last ep i watched, when interviewing a potential fwb she asserted that cunnilingus was nonnegotiable (MY TYPA BITCH!!!🔥) I love her character because she is casually rebellious by merely putting her sexual pleasure first and being unapologetic about it, but that doesn't mean she lacks morality (not at all) She is mostly the 'voice of reason' that tells her friend to go masturbate girl... just do it and together they are very wholesome friends.

What i love about this drama is that you can tell women were involved in its production. It touches upon the stories and perspectives that are usually ghosted over in other kdramas. as long as the leads declare their undying love for eachother, everything else is perfect. (But we know better!) they show the raw sides to being a sexual being who is also female, placed in a korean context. This is a VERY groundbreaking drama, highly nsfw but thats how we love it, and so important for making sexuality discussable for older, current, and future generations. Only 4 eps are out at this point but i would LOVE for later eps to feature an older woman of like 50-60years old to contribute to the dialogue about female sexuality in korea. because imagine the magnitude of difference 😵🤩

I am terrible at reviews but i hope your one take away from this post is: there is a very good kdrama that features female sexuality and is educative and pushes boundaries, stars hong seokchun and has great acting and very sexy yet realisic love scenes. you should definitely watch it !!!
