Do you know what kind of bug this is? Probably around 1cm long, I live in Canada, Alberta (like middle of of the province)
it's hard to tell from this picture (small bugs are REALLY hard to photograph with a phone!), but it looks like a glassworm midge to me! i.e., a midge in the genus Chaoborus.
Fun fact: the larval form of these guys (i.e. their babies) are called "glassworms", and they eat mosquito larva!
