It’s Rufus’ take on foreign policy to keep at least one Turk wherever the Imperial Family chooses to stay on their time in ShinRa lands. (Because whether it is stated with logos and fanfare know, Rufus still owns so much of this world. So anywhere except Wutai, the Kisaragi family is offered an escort. Most of the time it is Tseng. And he thinks that Rufus does it on purpose, to try and see him unravel with Yuffie’s snide remarks and Cloud’s passive aggression.) The hotel room in Edge is large, with a sitting area separate from the bedroom. And Tseng hasn’t slept in two days, but it looks like that won’t be stopping tonight. The television is playing lowly in the background, more for white noise than anything substantial, helping him focus on the sounds around him more acutely instead of it all meshing together. Some files are spread across the desk, work he had brought from the office for this express purpose. The baby starts crying and Tseng is on his feet, moving to the door to the bedroom to check on the family. Cloud comes out, looking half-asleep and half-delerious at that. Yuki is squirming and crying. Will you feed Yuki please, he manages to hear that much from Cloud before the consort slips back into the bedroom, leaving the door cracked likely so that Tseng can put Yuki back to bed after. He sighs, rubbing the child’s back and bouncing them against his side lightly as he moves to the small kitchenette area, opening the minifridge to remove one of the prepared bottles. Yuki’s fingers grab on, pulling it to themselves. He can’t help but laugh at that, moving back to the desk to sit down. “Already so demanding. You’re going to be just like your mother.” He murmurs into the silence of the room and Yuki’s eyes watch him for a moment, far too clever and understanding for an infant, but then the focus is back to the bottle. Tseng drapes a towel over his shoulder for once the drink is finished, patting and rubbing over Yuki’s back. “But it runs in the family I suppose.” Tseng says it with the slightest smirk, and Yuki coos against his shoulder, making him laugh. “Good to know you agree.”
