Holoska was hit by a very severe blizzard, and everyone's sheltered inside their igloos as they listen to the howling winds outside. The temperature is below freezing, but at least the villagers are staying cozy in their igloos. Coming out from one of the igloos was Amy, as she braced for the strong wind while walking towards the cauldron above a campfire. She grabs a ladle, and pours something into 6 mugs on a tray. Then, she walks back to her igloo, where Cream, Cheese, Chocola, Trikey, and Bumpy are lying down on pillows, and are wrapped up in a giant blanket.
Bumpy: I hope Amy comes back inside, it must be freezing out there. Trikey: Yeah, but at least it's warm, and toasty in here. Bumpy: Yeah, I never thought these giant snow bricks would keep us warm. Cream: Well, they said that the big snow blocks traps our body heat, so we don't feel cold. It's something called insulating, I think. Bumpy: What does that mean? Trikey: From what we heard, It's a fancy word for covering, or wrapping someone, or something.
Bumpy: Wow, that is really neat! Cream: Yeah! And I think Igloos are amazing! Amy: They sure are. Amy crawls back into the igloo, holding the tray. Amy: And do you know what else is amazing? Trikey: No, what? Amy: Well, see for yourself. She held out the tray, with 6 mugs of hot cocoa, and marshmallows. Cream, and Trikey: OOH!! Cocoa! Putting the tray down, the pink hedgehog hands out colorful mugs. Amy: Now, be very careful. These are very hot. She gives an orange one to Cream. Cream: Thank you, Amy! Ooh, this feels warm! Amy gives a pink one to Trikey. Trikey: Thank you! Oh, you're right. It does feel warm. I like it!
Bumpy: Hmm, I never had hot cocoa before. Is it really that good? Cream: Yes, it is! And it's also called hot chocolate. Hot, but very yummy! Trikey: Especially with marshmallows! Bumpy was about to stick her tongue into the mug. Amy: Bumpy. Be careful, dear. I said it's hot, and you could burn your tongue. Bumpy: Sorry, Amy. But Amy wasn't really mad at her. Cream: It's okay, Bumpy. I remember the first time I drank cocoa, It really hurt, but it was still good. But my Mama told me to blow into my mug next time. Like this. The little rabbit blows into her mug, and carefully sips her cocoa. Cream: Mmm!
The ankylosaur watches them enjoying their cocoa. Even the two Chaos enjoyed theirs. She looks at her drink, blows into it, and gently sips. Amy: What do you think? Bumpy licks the cocoa and marshmallow off her beak. Bumpy: Wow! This is really good! Something then caught by surprise. Ooh! Amy: What is it? Bumpy: I can feel it in my tummy. It tickles! Cream: Oh yeah, and it feels good when we drink something hot, but tasty. Trikey: Even with marshmallows. It adds a nice touch. But be sure to eat them before they melt!
Bumpy looks at her cocoa. Bumpy: Oh! She carefully licks up the white marshmallows. Amy and Cream giggled. They both looked around the igloo, while listening to the wind. Cream: I guess we'll be here for the night. Amy: Yeah, but at least we'll be snuggling together while we sleep. Cream nodded. She scooted over to Amy, and they both cuddle to keep warm. The Chaos and the dinosaurs did the same. Soon, they would all fall asleep in their warm igloo, as the blizzard continues outside, and the wind's howling cry echos throughout the village.
Question: Have you ever been in an Igloo before? If so, what was it like?
