24K Comeback MV Review
https://youtu.be/Fqm5Xi5x00o
It's been a while since I reviewed some things because of just being so so busy but I will slowly pick back up again. I'll try to review the whole album 24K came back with. It is also called Bonnie N Clyde like the main track. A little background about 24K is that they aren't very popular due to mainly a bunch of ridiculous bans where they couldn't be on a lot of shows. There's been a bunch of lineup changes for different reasons and right now there is only 1 original member left promoting which is Cory. Kisu and Sungoh are also original members but are in the military right now. We also have a new member this time, the new maknae, Kiyong. They had a meet in the U.S. also a little while back so that's good and also gained a bit more attention from some members being on MixNine. I'm sorry that this is all very wordy, you guys. 24K can be a confusing group to keep track of and so I wanted to give a bit of information. Right now all the members are Cory, Jeongguk, Jinhong, Changsun, Hongseob, Kiyong, and then Kisu and Sungoh. Okay let's see how the mv was!
Im going to start off by saying I listened/watched this about 5 times before starting to write this. I really recommend listening with earphones. The music itself is basically made of a bunch of different sounds to create a rough/street and experimental sound. Without earphones it sounds a little bit too much in discord and doesn't come together for the same punch as it does when it is equalized. The way this song was built is a lot like Chain or even Cherry Bomb by NCT. It's not the main type of pop song you usually see or get. It's definitely risky but I also believe that it fits with the dangerous theme of Bonnie and Clyde themselves. There's normally 2 types of title tracks. Ones that are immediately popular and viral that get overplayed and hyped up usually more than thwir worth. Then the others that get better the more you listen and they last longer. This song would be #2. This song keeps the same formula with the same sounds and buildups the entire time until you get to the prechorus and the bridge which gives a nice melodical break from the harsher sounds the rest of the song relies on. The bridge took a completely different route of sound and normally that would feel out of place but 24K make it work in this instance thanks to keeping the lower range vocals to tie it in to the rest of the song.
To the clothing. The outfits aren't the best, they're sort of out of place with the theme and I wish they had a bigger variety of clothing in the mv rather than 3 group outfits that don't go together in comparison to each other. One set was orange and black while the other was lavender and white. The other one had loose jeans and sweaters that honestly reminded me of schools about 30 years ago. Tassels are 9/10 a really bad fashion idea also and it is distracting rather than helpful normally. Good thing there were only a few that had them. Their personal outfits in different shots were the better ones for sure. They weren't overdone, they were casual, but they weren't bad.
The mv itself wasn't the highest quality because of money, but it was higher than I expected and certain shots were much higher hq than others. The dance scenes were taped at a lower quality but if those scenes were used and we got a performance version then that would work out to a much greater advantage because then it would make sense. The dance itself wasn't spectacular by any means but it was consistent. Consistency is very important above many other factors. You dont need to necessarily have a dance with a few crazy moves. It's more important to continually keep a base of dance quality that every member keeps up with. It accomplishes that so there's no complaints from me. Most of the mv was dancing anyways so I'm hoping there's a dance version that can utilize that and the scenes already used. (In the mv there's also this one "dangerous" pretty girl around the blue and yellow Lamborghinis and I actually wanna know who she is and see if I know her from anything else. 😂) There's also a few flash scenes so heads up people with epilepsy.
My only problem that I really had with the mv is the cohesiveness. A lot of mv have this problem. They'll use like cars or those fannypacks because it's trendy or flashy but it isn't cohesive with one another and the story itself. The car scenes were more understandable because of Bonnie and Clyde obviously. But there was a scene where all the boys were hanging out and like shooting darts. But then it goes back to them dancing and the cars. That's just something 99% of companies and groups can work on. Nothing wrong with 24K themselves. I want to applaud the lyrics because normally I'm annoyed by songs where the guy just risks everything and throws himself out there for the girl or to protect her. This was done in a much better way. I don't know how to describe it but it wasn't like desperate or even like an illusion at all. It usually feels like that too me, very forced and just ridiculous. This was just written very tastefully. I really like whoever did the lyrics. 👏
Overall this song grows on you and is definitely something you'd want to listen to even later on down the road. The mv has its ups and downs but the song itself is really good and if you didn't like it at first I HIGHLY recommend using earphones and playing it more times. Please support this song, mv, and group. Stream the mv if you can and if you also have money it would mean a lot to buy the album. Thank you for reading all of this even though it was long. ❤💗💓

About my last personal post: Choeun’s CEO is being petty and throwing Hui and Daeil (now ex-members of 24K) under the bus. He posted in english on the fan cafe, basically saying Daeil and Hui “betrayed the company and the group”: Daeil for doing solo work while “still under the company” (even though we all know he left like more than a year ago it was easy to tell), and then Hui for something I honestly don’t believe Hui would do. The CEO said that Hui basically ran off to China right before the last broadcast for Only You and said he quit through a text and refused to contact anyone and “played with our feelings” (mhm like I’m going to believe that coming from the company who refuses to update on anything). It was all very unprofessional and very petty. You could taste the salt, I was pissed before becoming extremely upset over the realization that now Hui is gone (he is my 24K bias so I’m trying not to cry). I can already tell people are going to attack both Hui and Daeil and I’m angry over it. And yet I’m not surprised, the company has pulled this before. They always end up throwing the artist under the bus and I’m just :(
Also, Sungoh has been in the army??? They’ll be discussing his return once his service is done??? They literally said nothing on this until now??? Choeun is so bad at actually being truthful to fans and yet they keep saying the members betrayed everyone and weren’t truthful, smh. When will Choeun get their shit together?
