I was reading your last post, and for some reason, the first thing I thought of was the song "my way of life" by Frank Sinatra....
This song is so stobotnik core I swear 😔
THIS EXACTLYYYYYY THIS IS SO STONE CORE..... THE HELPLESS, LOST DEVOTION THAT CORRUPTS..... Like considering my last two posts im gonna assume you're referring to that dogged, bloody posession. Stone is a starved dog that bites and doesnt let go so the fact that he loves a bucking love bronco is like perfect..... Stobotnik matches each other's freak in a way that is simply too dangerous to the general public
10 people I'd like to get to know better
Tagged by the love of my life @nualaofthefaerie , just the distraction i needed in this day and age
Last song: Eenie Meenie, by JB and Sean K. It's in my shower playlist
Last Book: I'm rereading With Kind Regards and Completely Serious Warning, by Jennylarner. Im still on an Irondad binge, surprisingly. Currently going through the When You Smile I Fall Apart ao3 collection
Last Movie: Kraven, the Last Hunter. Very bad and I did not enjoy the experience. Of better note is the movie Kahar, a prequel feature of the TV Show, The High Council. Absolutely stellar movie experience even with 0 context. Would watch again.
Last Show: Moon Knight, actually. Just got into the hype because i prefer to watch good things on my own time lol. I would die for Steven Grant.
Sweet, Spicy, Savoury: I'm Southeast Asian, meaning most of our dishes are a combo Spicy+Savoury. Which is what I prefer. I've mostly grown out of my sweet tooth, but I still get the need for chocolate sometimes.
Relationship status: Single
Last thing I googled: School Calendar. Ive lost my copy and my mom needed to coordinate our Christmas breaks lol
Current obsession: I'm back in Marvel's maw, so its a combo of Tony Stark, Spidey, Venom and Deadpool. Mostly Spidey and Deadpool. Honorable mention to @hemlock-dreams ' Hunting!Spider AU, which has my balls in a chokehold and doesn't seem to be letting go anytime soon.
I have Perryshmirtz and Sportarobbie bubbling a constant hum on the back burner of my brain, which makes @mammalsofaction the most active of my blogs so far. I'm still waiting on s5 and 6 of PNF in the new year
Tagging @adhdoofenshmirtz @chio-chan2 @dinnerdog @agentlizardofowca @erizumon @inators and an obligatory @ennas-aesthetic even though I know she barely shows up here any more lmao.
based on perry being possessive: do u think he'd be excited if doof was possessive over HIM?
Perry knows that he is. He IS happy about it. There's some proof of this;
1. In Nerds of a Feather, their b-plot centres around a TV show Heinz made up he named "Doof n Pus." Executive Jeff McGarland suggests giving the platypus a girlfriend. Heinz blew his TOP. ("Oh you suddenly know my characters more than me?!")
When the camera pans back to Perry, Perry's glaring at Jeff, smirking.
2. In Come Home Perry, Heinz found out that he's been demoted to Minor Threat, (already very upsetting) and that Perry's been relocated to the Quad State Area to fight the Regurgitator. I'm pretty sure Heinz then confronts the Regurgitator about Perry being HIS nemesis, but he chickens out of scolding the man to his face. He DOES put an escape button in Perry's trap though.
This episode establishes Perry's trust in Heinz.
3. Ok this is vague. But there's a book out there written from Heinz's perspective with a title I can't remember (paging @pnfc 's merch knowledge with this) where a feature includes doing a little quiz to find out which OWCA agent you're most compatible with. (Book is absolutely chock full of Perryshmirtz).
In that book, the highest villaney score lands you on Perry as the most compatible nemesis. But Heinz basically says that "But he's mine, so you can have Agent Chicken instead"
4. Heinz was also jealous when Perry started working together with Lila Loliberry in "Sidetracked". When they both confront Heinz in the dining car, Lila puts her arm around Perry, which he glares at and shoves away. Heinz had cackled, calling out how much Perry must hate this, considering his Lone Wolf tendencies. Perry very pointedly doesnt deny him.
In the Niagara Falls scene, Perry infamously puts his hand on Heinz's arm before he leaves, and they share a secret smile.
Heinz appears less jealous than Perry only because Perry's arguably the more aggressively possessive one. Perry's not the cheating sort either. Heinz sorta is. But he IS possessive. Perry DOES know Heinz is obsessed with him. They are both aware of each other's unhealthy codependency, the staple of every sweet romance.
I'm curious, what do you think of roger? I always find myself confused about my opinion of him because sometimes he stands out as an asshole to me and the next episode it feels as if he cares for heinz but doesn't get him because he's neurotypical
I dont really spend a lot of time thinking about him bc i dont like him but hes not interesting enough for me to hate him. Generally, its complicated.
I dont think hes evil. There's no way for someone to grow up in such close proximity with blatant child abuse that Heinz had to go through and not develop some sort of complex.
His relationship with his mother feels a little.... Well his mom has a weird obsession with him, and much like Heinz himself he starves for validation and approval from her. Impossible not to, really. If you grew up next to someone infinitely punished at one point youre going to feel like youre being shown an example of what will happen to you if you dont measure up. I think Roger has some sort of "Its easy to be loved and adored so long as I never screw up ever" mentality that shaped him into this cookie cutter creature top scared both of screwing up as he is to vouch for someone who WILL screw up. It makes him a coward but an efficient politician. I dont think hes even a politician of his own accord bro their dad was a man of political standing. I think their parents just sort of expected him to be a politician.
At the end of the day, Roger's characterization still feels so shallow and undeveloped that there are so many interesting interpretations of him, but my favourite remains the fact that after everything, he's still a hopeless kid being tugged around without much of his own say so, dwarfed by his brother's independent brilliance and their parent's abuse. He wants everyone to get along which is hard because everyone fucking hates each other. Heinz and his father BOTH hate him (lets not forget that Doof senior named his dog "only son"... He had two. Both Heinz and Roger prefer cats) his parents cant stand each OTHER.
Roger is a fucking nothingburger of a character with a small violin who's self centredness stems from the confusion and cowardice of his childhood. I dont like to imagine him and Heinz getting along and I ALSO dislike the idea of Vanessa looking up to him in any way.
Do i hope we WILL develop more characterization of him in the future? Can't say. At the end of the day, he's down there with Monty for me in terms of interesting characterization. At the very least I enjoy hating him
Imagine Agent P and Uncle Perry mimicking each other lol. Just like how Busting Candace mimicked Romantic Candace.
Agent P: HAVE YOU SEEN HIM?
Vanessa: S-seen who?
Agent P: YOU KNOW!! Sunshines and butterflies and oooooh i gotta make dinner and sleep in the hammock all day and read my books and smooch Heinz Doofenshmirtz mwah mwah mwah-
Vanessa, with her eyebrows raised, trying to keep from laughing: Um, not particularly. Sometimes, for sure
Agent P: WHERE
V: What?????
Agent P: Oh, youre useless. STAY OUT OF MY WAY, DOOFENSHMIRTZ.
[Vanessa watches him stomp away with a bewildered expression]
V: What the hell just happened?
You think Agent P ever flexes to look more intimidating then he already is? 💪
Absolutely 200%. Oh, he LOVES showing off. But... More intimidating?
Nonnie....listen. Perry's top brass, senior agent, cream of the crop. And i mean it. In canon, He wields a surprising amount of authority among his coworkers, his biometrics are nearly on par with Francis himself as part of HQ emergency lockdown procedures (thats higher than Carl), and his bonus and overtime checks are INSANE.
Hes worked with agents from M16. Thats James Bond caliber. He's worked with superheroes.
One time Heinz got Agent Silent G in trouble and Perry was sent to go "clean his mess up." and Dr Dimuniutive SHRIEKED IN FEAR just seeing him at the door. Perry's reputation precedes him; Agent Lyla Loliberry of the Canadian Division knows him by word of mouth alone. He was in charge of educating a whole unit of young OWCA agents at one point, if you want an blatant indication of rank.
Nonnie, Perry's not just good at his job. He's the best. He knows it. And so does everyone else.
He walks his talk. That is an agent who overdelivers. Perry often doesn't need to flex, he just needs to show up. And everybody else sits down. This is probably why he likes to show off to Heinz so much—who else could keep up with him and make his day?
"Oh but how is he assigned to Heinz of all people" ive got two specials to introduce you to. Phineas and Ferb electric boogaloo and Across the Second Dimension. There is a reason Perry was assigned to, and continues to choose to fight Heinz. And we stew on that.
How does Agent P and Uncle Perry first react to being split?
Fairly disoriented, I imagine.
In the canon episode, Candace (particularly Busting Candace) is portrayed as aware of what had just happened, but fairly unharmed and.... Whole, for the lack of a better word. Its because the molecular separator is made with the intention of separating aspect of something organic COMPLETELY of something that isn't what it belongs to—for however it decides which characteristic belongs to which organic material. So Perry's physically FINE and both aspects of him are aware what just happened.
However, if you hadn't guessed from their scuffle in DEI—theyre not the HUGEST fans of each other. Much like how busting Candace is endlessly exasperated by her counterpart—Agent Perry considers Uncle Perry a softie and a traitor. His feelings for the Flynn Fletcher and Doofenshmirtzes—love and affection and goofiness and contentment—had been completely detached. This is more like the person he was before he was forced into the Fletcher fold in his early 20s. Cold, paranoid, bit of an asshole, but without the possessive or protectiveness for his loved ones. Completely devoted to his job and hatred of villains. Perry considers his early 20s his "Bond era", which is... Accurate, but think less James Bond more Batman. Brooding and miserable but INSANELY cool.
Uncle Perry cant fucking stand this depressed emo freak, btw. In the outline he says "THIS IS WHY WE CANT HAVE NICE THINGS" bc Uncle Perry is a persona he eventually grows into as he'd settled down. All the love and happiness he'd learned to accept for himself as he began to radicalize from OWCA in the wake of his sister's death, and the Fletchers make no uncertain claims how much family he is. This is what Perry is like with NO BAGGAGE. Its not the most truthful sona of Perry either, bc what are people without baggage? What is Perry without his drive, ambition, spine of steel and possessiveness? The reason he knows the Doofenshmirtz at ALL is because of his Agent Aspect, and this was the aspect that Nessa knows best and Heinz first fell for.
This is all to say each side of himself hates each other, which im sure won't reflect on any sort of internal psychological clusterfuck within this man on a daily basis. There's a reason Perry is SO adamant in separating the two in his life, not least bc Perry thinks neither of them are alike at all. The truth is Perry is both of them and more, but shh. Don't spoil it for him. He has a long way to go 😉
