10, 11, 28, 33 for the graphic maker ask please? Thanks!!
Hello thanks for the ask!
10. What graphics / gif trends do you dislike most?
None really. I have yet to find out what defines a 'trend' and not a person's personal style. Even when following a trend people tend to bring in their own style.
I've never really understood the appeal of using neon in edits though but that's just me being me.
11. What graphics / gif trends do you like most?
I love it when gif and edit makers use quotes in their works. It's always such a nice touch and I try to do that more myself! I also love it when for a characters birthday for example the creators of the fandom make works dedicated to said character! I don't know if that counts as a trend but I really love it when even minor characters are shown love that way!
28. Advice for any beginner graphic / gif makers?
Don't rush. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Gif and graphic making takes time and practice! Your first work doesn't have to be perfect, neither does the second work but over time you will find a style and way that works best for you. Also even if you think you have found your style don't hesitate to try out something new! Maybe you'll find something that works even better than what you're currently doing.
33. Give us a quick explanation of how you make a graphic / gif?
I'm really bad at explaining my process here since it isn't really cohesive. For the most part I know for which character I want to make an edit and try to work from there.
I generally tend to look for pictures first and put them all in a Pinterest board. This helps a lot in the process of trying to come up with a cohesive theme. Only then I look for a face claim (if I don't already have one for the character or they have a canon appearance).
The next part is mostly my own meddling. I open the editing application of my choice and make the decision whether I want to work with a set framework (like a 2x6 or 2x8 photocollage grid) or if I just want to go ham and freestyle (which doesn't happen as often as I would like because I loose interest halfway through half of the time).
Once I have arranged the pictures in a way I like we come to my favourite part! Colour adjustments and filter! I just really love to mess around with that in particular and see how I can make adjustments.
I hope this was at least a little bit helpful :)
