@chrande.
HE KNOWS, of course. How could he not? Electing to attend the same school as Oikawa Tooru is akin to crossing a minefield: he’s well aware of the danger. But he does nothing with the knowledge, other than use it as means to prepare himself. What further option does he have? He could’ve chosen a different university, but it’s hard when the university chooses YOU. Aside from that, it’s nationally ranked as the best ( why else would Oikawa be attending? ) -- truly, he’d be a fool to discard the opportunity.
Even if it means playing on the same team as him again.
Or sharing the same classes, apparently. He’s shocked to see Oikawa from a few rows askance ( Kageyama’s tucked near the back, away from the most densely populated congregation of students ), & when the professor is instructing them to participate in first-day icebreaker games, Kageyama decides very adamantly that he’s going to talk to everyone sans Oikawa. He just... has to find someone, first. Someone who’s not already matched up with their neighbor.
He flounders.

☁ disappointed
Sometimes things just don’t go the way we planned... his own plans or attempts at things failing is a disappointment, of course, but he’s able to move along quickly from that, rationalize it, take a new approach next time.
The real disappointing thing is watching other people fail. The ones he believed would win.
