The NBA Draft Class of 2000 was definitely a weak one. With only a few people becoming all-stars and even less managing to find lengthy careers in an era of them suggests that the talent is scarce in this draft. So who got who?

A fine tradition of Celtics scrubs
1) Shelden Williams -- The strong forward left Duke as its all-time leading rebounder and blocks. That was enough for the Atlanta Hawks to bypass Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay and Rajon Rondo. The Hawks might as well have taken Renaldo Balkman, the most booed pick of the night.
He's famous for being Candace Parker's wife.
2) Vin Baker -- Chosen eighth overall by the Bucks, Baker averaged a double-double twice, and finished with 20 points or more a night twice, spread over four seasons.
Today we know him as a casualty of the lockout. Coincidentally he figured in the three-team trade that brought him to Seattle and shipped Shawn Kemp, another lockout casualty, to Cleveland.
By the time he reached Boston he had a drinking problem. By the time he left, so did a lot of Celtics fans.
3) Dominique Wilkins -- Don't know why he was signed half-a-season after being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Just forget he played anywhere else but Atlanta. It's better that way.
4) Dwayne Schintzius -- At least he died his mullet blonde. RIP.
5) Darko Milicic -- By the time I realized he was playing for the Celtics, he was gone, never to return to the NBA. Pistons and Knicks fans weren't as fortunate.
But at least an NBA exec called him Manna from heaven. Unfortunately, it was ex-Wolves GM David Kahn.
6) Pervis Ellison -- Drafted first overall by the Sacramento Kings, where he played about 30 games, long enough for current C's exec Danny Ainge* to label him Out of Service Pervis.
*Ainge played one season in Sacramento, the same year it drafted Ellison, known as Never Nervous Pervis in Louiseville.
7) Chris Mihm -- Pete Myers was to Michael Jordan in Chicago what Mihm was to Shaquille O'Neal post L.A.
In Boston he made us pine for Raef LaFrentz. We got our wish and learned to be careful what we wish for.
8) Jiri Welsch -- The next Dirk Nowitzki, according to the Gospel of Danny Ainge, which kind of scares me about Kelly Olynyk.
The Belgian forward answers the question, "What if Nikoloz Tskitishvili got playing time?"
9) Vitaly Potapenko -- Talk about a rough childhood. I was excited to see the Celtics acquire The Ukraine Train. Sadly, trains are to the Ukraine what the Yugo is to Yugoslavia.
10) Bimbo Coles -- Bimbos are acceptable if they have huge tits, not receding hairlines.
P.S. I didn't forget about Michael Olowakandi. He was that bad in C's green.
The Lakers roster has been a constant source of hatred for me since the 2007-08 roster that featured Cook, Mihm, Newble, Radmanovic, Walton, Vujacic & Turiaf, but this season may be the most easy to hate roster in Lakers history. You've got Kobe (Lord of the Assholes), Pau (part alpaca, understudy to Lord of the Assholes), Xavier Henry, owner of the prettiest eyes in the NBA & WNBA, Shawne Williams is on this list just so you can wonder who the fuck that is (earned a spot as a walk-on after caring for Kobe's bunions all spring), Jordan Farmar is the worst of the worst, can't even expand on this one due to the burning hatred, Elias Harris looks like he used his entire $100K rookie year salary on downers, Chris Kaman is seven feet tall and may realistically own more automatic weapons than career double doubles, Steve Blake has been playing the odds and losing on a regular basis throughout his entire life (fighting, shooting 3s, signing with And1, overcoming stereotypes), Robert Sacre is the kind of guy who walks around flaring his nostrils because he thinks it makes him look hard and is actually in the news tonight for scoring 6 points off the bench in 7 minutes, something Jeanie Buss is capable of outdoing, and last but not least is Ryan Kelly, who embodies everything there is to hate about the LA Lakers, Duke Blue Devils, and white people in general. If you hate any of these things, when you think of them you should see his face.
