Christopher Hitchens @ Google 2007.
Wow. I like him even more than Dawkins, because he doesn't get aggressive. He just shows how ridiculous most religious arguments are. Just great!

Thinking of you, dear friend.
Christopher Hitchens died
I am half-tempted to troll my mom by emailing her, "I'm sorry for your loss." She's a huge fan of him -- not really what he argued for so much as how eloquent he was.
He always struck me as kind of arrogant, and I really hated his essay about how women aren't as funny as men (don't even get me started on that), but I appreciated that he was willing to defend atheism in a logical, consistent matter. I don't identify as an atheist, but it drives me up a wall when people who are religious somehow try to "prove" their faith, and I loved that Hitchens would tear apart their arguments every single time flawlessly.
(Also, it is super dumb to smoke, especially when your dad died of esophageal cancer, but whatever. Nicotine is a hell of a drug.)
