chrisstuna answered your question “I wonder what Kouen’s role will be for the remainder of the story....”
He's going to make a grand comeback I bet. I really want Aladdin, Morg and Hakuryuu to go against Sin and then they'll be desperate and look to the east at sunrise like in that Lord of the Rings scene and Alibaba will be there with all the Rens
Oh my god! I love that lol. Magi’s version of the battle of Helm’s Deep ^_^ "Look to my coming, at first light, on the fifth day. At dawn, look to the East.“

I think he and Ha and Mei will do one last cool thing before the series ends..or not. I would be sad then, because I need more Kouha in my life.
I think you’re right. I’m sure all three of them will be involved in something big by the end. It seems that right now Mei is playing the bigger part by helping to get Kou on its feet again, but I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of Kouen or Kouha.

He wouldn't stay in the background that's for sure, there'd be no point having him there if he was just going to be a very pushed back side character. I reckon he still has a role to play in the fight against Sinbad, and with getting Hakuei back
I agree. Ohtaka spent too much time fleshing out aspects of his character to just let him disappear into the background. Plus I don’t think she would have spent time showing us his insatiable thirst for knowledge if it wasn’t going to mean anything in the end. I kinda feel like he may end up being pitted against Arba somehow. He was just as interested in defeating her as Hakuryuu was according to his last conversation with Hakuryuu before his “execution”. Perhaps all of the Rens will work together to bring Arba down since she’s been screwing with their family for generations.

I think that Sinbad believes that if he had royal blood he would achieve his goals easier since in magi world royal blood = lots of privileges.
Yup, that makes the most sense. I’m interested in seeing how it’s connected back to SnB since he hasn’t really mentioned that desire until the current timeline. Something’s gonna happen to spark those thoughts.

I was thinking the same thing! In SnB, Sinbad always embrassed his roots and used them to motivate him. So this shocked me a bit, because he doesnt let a lack of royal blood stop him from achieving his goals. I guess there is a lot more heart ache to come than we thought… and just when I sorta recovered from the Ja'far/Zepar incident. At least there was that bit where Sinbad called Alibaba his “son”, which sorta redeems him in my books :P
Yes! I always read him as someone with great pride in his background. As terrible as it was, he learned a lot from what happened to Badr and the miserable circumstances of his home village. All of that turned him into an extremely resourceful and determined person. That drive to make the world better for the Badrs and Esras of the Magiverse more than likely wouldn’t have existed had he been of noble birth.
I’m a little leery of him calling Alibaba son at this point. If it had been earlier in the story, like when Alibaba first took refuge in Sindria, I wouldn’t have thought much of it considering Sinbad’s connection to Rashid. I would have viewed it as Sin mentoring Alibaba the way Rashid mentored Sin. However, at this point in the game it’s a little odd. Nothing would make me happier if Sinbad really viewed Alibaba like a son. I hope those are his true feelings.
You can be sure there’s gonna be more heartache to come. Ohtaka and Ohtera are good for that ^_^

I was also pondering in twitter about this the other day.
We are definitely missing some information.
In my opinion Sinbad probably used to seek royal blood because other nations and kings probably didn’t recognized him as a real king or Sindria as a real kingdom, due to Sinbad’s roots. Maybe Parthevia, under Barbarossa’s reign, spread rumors or actually truths about Sinbad’s origins, thus he was not taken seriously and heavily criticized.
However, Rametoto, Mira, Darius and other nation kings don’t seem to mind Sinbad’s roots so I’m not sure about this either.
SnB will hopefully fill in the gaps here. You might be on to something though. Perhaps Barbarossa did to Sin what Sin just did to Alibaba in recent Magi chapters. Maybe he spread rumors/truths to cause some kind of discord between Sin and his allies. I have no problem pinning any bad events on Babarossa (I’m not a fan of his lol). Sin’s allies don’t seem to have a problem with his upbringing per se, but that doesn’t mean Barbarossa won’t try to drive wedges by spinning Sin’s commoner background to his advantage somehow. It’s an interesting thought.
I love chatting and speculating about Sinbad with everyone. It’s fun ^_^
