Being Really Real

I have this blog. I have these thoughts. I have these ideas. I have these words. But behind it all, first and foremost, I have myself.

I just wanted to take a moment to say that I’m a real person. I have flaws and fears and weird habits and weird interests and unusual quirks. It’s easy to read my blogs and imagine me as this perfect person with a dream life that is just awesome and everything…

Years ago I stumbled upon a women named Christa Black. She was on tour with the Jonas Brothers and I loved her energy so I looked her up. I found her blog and music and during that time, it helped me develop a better relationship with God and helped me out of my hole for awhile. All these years later the song "God loves Ugly" is still my favourite and continues to make me cry. Shoutout to her for helping me so much.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be beautiful—in fact, we’re created in the image of the most beautiful Guy in the universe, and I love looking like my Father! But I don’t slave to look like Him by obsessing over my outward appearance anymore. I’ve learned to let Him love the ugly parts of my life, and the more that I’m loved, the more I look like Him. And the more that I look like Him, the more true beauty radiates from my life.
