The start of a new week
I had a pretty amazing weekend getting to spend time with some friends as well as make some new friends. On Friday I took a trip to Paducah and got to build on some friendships which was amazing. On Saturday I got to sleep in a little and then I played worship music at the BCM for around an hour with Forrest. (Shocker Forrest knows how to play piano). Playing music was a ton of fun and it was a great time of worship even if it just was Forrest and I. I watched another movie with friends Saturday night and woke up early Sunday to go to the early service at church. After church I spent most of the day with friends watching the Divisional Championships of the NFL. While we were there Ben took me on a flash back and reminded me what I was doing last year at the same time. Last year on NFL Divisional weekend I was driving to Jackson with Ben, Peyton and Britt to celebrate Nathan's and Kimberly getting engaged. The past few days however I have been struggling in my faith some and getting behind in my reading and spending less time with God. Today on my day off I slept probably a lot more than I should have but still got up around 12. I ended up going to Walmart and then calling my dad to get information to help me finish up my FAFSA. After that Robert, Forrest, Heith, and I went over to Heith's apartment and watching The Prisoner which was a great movie with a crazy ending. Afterwards I got some dinner and decided it was time for me to catch up on my reading and hope God will speak to me in some ways. I got all caught up on my bible reading plan and finished reading Not a Fan. I hope I get a copy of Kisses from Katie (A book Grace recommended I read about a missionary from Nashville who dropped everything at the age of 18 and now serves in Uganda)
It amazes me that my whole entire day can turn around instantly by just spending time reading my bible or listening to Christian Music and singing along to it in my car. Days like these are what make me realize how amazing and wonderful and powerful God really is. I can feel God working through me and others can see him working through me.
I am so thrilled that this weekend is the BCM Winter Retreat. I am so excited to get away from school just a little and have a chance to relax. On a completely unrelated note I am finally doing what my Dad wanted me to do and I am going to try going to a Catholic church soon. I realized that one of the biggest reasons that I absolutely love going to First Baptist is that First Baptist is where I feel comfortable because I know so many people that go there every Sunday and knowing people there gives me the sense of belonging. Walking in every Sunday and having Ms Jenna sit down and talk to me about my life is going means the world to me. First Baptist has done an amazing job with their University Department and without them I wouldn't be the Christian I am today. That being said I know that if I just go to the Catholic church here that I'm probably going to approach it with the ("I just want to get this done attitude") unless I go with one of my friends who is Catholic so I feel more comfortable about everything. So in a few weeks me and Colleen a friend of Ben and Peyton are going to go on a Saturday!
I know I say that I love all my friends a ton but in all honesty I don't know where I would be in this world without you guys. I'm going to give a huge shoutout to Grace. Over the past few weeks you have helped me through a ton of things and you are a huge influence on me and I am so excited and I can not wait until we get to go on Beach Reach over Spring Break. You have been an amazing to help the past few weeks and you have been a great friend to come too when I need someone to talk too. You are awesome Grace!
I love all of you guys so much! I'm praying for all of you!
