i keep daydreaming about who will say i love you first next season or in two seasons and i know some people are into the whole someone blurts it out in the middle of a fight but no it only happens in soft ways okay listen

after a while they end up spending more nights at Sophie’s because they were driving Mary crazy and maybe Alice is staying at the loft anyway one night Ryan is heading home and just waltzes through the door (she has a key by this point obviously) while still on the phone with Sophie who just looks absolutely confused like
‘what are doing here?’ because they didn’t have plans and Ryan’s brow scrunches up in that cute way and she takes a beat before realizing where she was. she tries to play it off with a little ‘SURPRISE’ but its obvious she subconsciously ended up at Sophie’s instead.
‘right. what are you doing here?’ except she has this big grin on her face this time and Ryan just looks at her thinking [be cool be cool]
‘i told you i was on my way home? i guess muscle memory took over?’ but lets be real here she views Sophie’s home as her home and she’s freaking out internally like [damn it Wilder get it together! she’s your girlfriend.] and before she gets another word out she just hears a low confident ‘i love you’ and obviously she says it back because Sophie is home.

OR everything with Marcus comes to a head and Ryan is spiraling Again and not communicating with Sophie, who is aggravated because she thought they were past this. Ryan is running off with Luke, and Mary is in the batcave on the comms while Sophie sits behind her. and Mary tells her to just say it out loud because she’s giving her a headache.
‘she’s just so frustrating’ and Mary is only half listening because she’s heard this before. ‘it’s been almost an entire year and we’re back where we started. i don’t get it. i don’t get her.’ and Mary cuts in with her infinite wisdom as always.
‘except you do get it. look we’ve all had crappy and horrible things happen to us but at the end of the day Ryan’s life has been the least secure. i’m pretty sure the only reason she opened up to me when we first met is because she was at her breaking point. and she found out about my history with Alice and in a sick way it bonded us. you know how she works so just ask her.’ so she leaves Ryan a text asking her to stop by when she gets a chance. and honestly she should be in more control but she starts rambling the moment Ryan walks in.
‘look i know it’s not personal but i need you to talk to me! i have been so patient since we met and i’m not saying that for a pat on the back. i chose to do so and you’ve been more than worth the wait. but it feels like we’re going backwards and its killing me that we’ve made so much progress and now your slamming the metaphorical door in my face. just let me in and let me stay there, please!’ and damn it Ryan is just standing there, tiredness in her eyes with a soft smile, as Sophie loses it.
‘listen, Sophie, i love you. so much. but can we talk about this tomorrow. i promise i’ll tell you everything but right now i am so tired.’ Sophie’s absolutely gobsmacked i love that word and she trips over her words as Ryan walks towards her reaching for her hand.
‘oh. um...yeah we can-we can talk tomorrow. i love you too. by the way.’ she hears Ryan let out this breathy chuckle as she mumbles ‘i know’ and pulls her into bed.
AND I JUST HAVE A LOT OF EMOTIONS YOU GUYS CATCH ME CRYING OVER THEM FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS
