Watching Christmas String (why not have a candy cane on halloween after all).
I really love how Nemu never backs down from an opportunity to roast Touka. This is what true friendship looks like right here!

The True Gift Was the Smile
Obtainability: “Christmas String” event gacha. This is event memoria and should be kept in the case of a rerun. Single Effect: Attack Down [60%] & Dazzle [65%] (One / 1 Turn) MLB Effect: Attack Down [65%] & Dazzle [100%] (One / 1 Turn)
Attack Down will decrease the target’s base attack.
Dazzle is a Status Ailment that causes the afflicted target to have a 50% chance to miss their attacks, make the target take 80% more damage from its weak element, and prevent the target from recovering HP. Dazzle chance can stack.
“The True Gift Was the Smile” has excellent DEF stats, and will be especially good for Mirrors thanks to its low cooldown and excellent effects. The effects synergize very well. Dazzle means the enemy has a 50% chance of missing your character, and the Attack Down means the attacks that don’t miss won’t hit as hard. Additionally, the low cooldown means you can potentially use it more than once in a fight, especially if equipped on a unit with passive Skill Quicken.
Note that the Dazzle is not a 100% chance as a single copy. If you want that 100% chance, you need to get five copies in total to max awaken “The True Gift Was the Smile,” which is no small feat when you consider that it’s a limited memoria in a fateweave that has two four-star rate-up memoria. However, even a single copy of “The True Gift Was the Smile” has 60% Attack Down and a six-turn cooldown, making it still useful.
The DEF stats, as noted, are very good. That means this memoria can qualify as a Stat Stick. Stat Sticks are Active memoria that beef up a character’s passive DEF its stats, not its effects. These kind of memoria are helpful in Mirrors, where some Actives serve little more than, well, “stat sticks.” This blog considers anything about 2200 DEF a Stat Stick . Note that the memoria needs to be Max Awakened to qualify as a Stat Stick.
Lastly, “The True Gift Was the Smile” can potentially offer an offensive purpose as well. Dazzle won’t just make the enemy miss half the time, but it will also make the afflicted take increased damage from their weak element. If you can counter their weak element, you have a way to both protect your team and deal extra damage.
Overall a very good memoria.
TLDR: “The True Gift Was the Smile” is overall a very good, very solid memoria. It’ll be a pain to max awaken it, but it’s ultimately worth it if you want to benefit from its outstanding passive DEF stats. It can be used even as a single copy however, especially for Magia Stall teams.
Life changing experience?
Touka's reaction:
Here is the card art for Touka & Nemu (Holy Night version)! This is another good set of cute card art imo.
I don’t plan on rolling for the upcoming Touka-Nemu banner; for those who do, could you take a screenshot if you get one of these memoria for me?
I’d also really appreciate a screenshot of her personal memo too!
These will be used for the memoria review blog! Preferred screenshots would look like this, from the archive
to get them, go here
I know I’m being a bit of a choosing beggar with this, but this way people can see what the max stats of the memoria are along with what the max cooldown is too.
Thanks so much in advance!! ;_;
Fun times with the Ex-Challenges
FUCK YEAH
I saw I got a title for this but I didn’t actually see which one it was. Oh well. Anyways these “Hundred Calamities Challenges” are probably my favorite thing in the game right now.
The team I used and their memoria. I followed this guide from Raz Anime-- well, kind of. Actually not really, I basically watched the first 30 seconds, got bored, and copied his team and decided to figure it out on my own. I ended up replacing Manaka with Sunao, and Sana with Sudachi.
Sudachi is the MVP in my opinion here. Her magia will give the entire team Attack Up/Accele MP up, ect ect, which is great because it means you can use her magia right before two accele disks-- or use her magia right before another magia for increased damage. Sudachi earns MP really quickly too-- the provoke on it means that you basically have a taunt every two or three turns, which is really useful.
Kako is very close behind her though. The Accele draw is really useful, her connect is a lifesavor, and her magia/doppel can tip the scales. Her doppel does way more damage than you’d think?? I wish her connect would remove status ailments before healing, but eh.
The last time we had one of these Challenges I could barely defeat the first two Challenges, but couldn’t finish the third one. So in the meantime I’ve been working on this group’s SE-- everyone has their Passive SE stuff filled out. I think I might work on Sudachi’s SE stats soon so that she’s 60/60 with as many nodes geared towards defense as I can.
Actually I want to gush about all the characters here.
Emiri is unexpectedly great. Her Bewitch (I’ll never remember to call Bewitch “Dazzle”) is super helpful when it manages to land, because it’ll cause the target to take 80% increased damage against its weak element AND cause the target to miss half the time-- it has a great offensive and defensive purpose!
Oriko here is the main damage dealer and she basically wipes the floor with anyone who dare stands in her way. Using Sudachi’s magia with Oriko’s magia has lead to a bunch of instant kills. Oriko gives Accele MP Up on her connect too, so that also helps keep the magia train going.
Sunao is probably the weakest link here and could probably be replaced with Manaka again-- I believe that Manaka in Raz Anime’s setup served as the atack buffer/healer, while Sunao is more of a defense buffer/healer. But she was still great-- I’d use her connect on Sudachi plenty of times (since my Sudachi only has two slots and less defense) so that Sudachi could stay alive when she used Provoke, and her regen HP on top of Kako’s regen HP meant that I could heal characters nearly half their health each turn. Her SE active for Remove Buffs... isn’t as useful as you’d think, but I did use it a few times to good effect!
But yeah, that was fun! Man, I wish I had more Mito Rain memoria.
That was faster than I thought
