Imagine: after babysitting, Chris asks about starting family.
“Alright, the baby finally asleep.” Chris says, quietly coming down the stairs, a exhausted look on his face.
“Daddy does it quicker.” Your five year old niece directs to Chris.
“That’s because your daddy has more practice.” Chris smiles at the small child.
“Uh-huh.” The small girl says walking away with a slight skip in step.
Chris stands beside you, wrapping his arm around your waist. “How’d you finally get him to sleep?” You ask, leaning into him, resting your hand on his chest as he plants a small kiss on your head.
“I told him I’d give him a chocolate bar and he conked right out.”
“He’s six months old.”
“Kids got his priority's set.” He jokes.
“Oh, really?” You rest your head on Chris chest as you two watch your small niece play with the small dog in the living room, filling the room with laughter.
“What if we had one?”
“Had one what?”
“A baby.”
“What?” You ask, looking up at him in confusion.
“What if we had a baby? Or a couple? I like this. A house full of kids, you and me. It’s nice.”
“Are you serious?”
“Of course.”
“What about your job?”
“I could cut back on projects. It’d be worth it for you and a baby.” You chuckle, daze by his confusion. “A family would be nice. First tooth, first steps, first birthday.”
“Thought about this for a while have you?”
“It’s been on my mind lately.” He rubs your arms. “What do you think?”
“I suppose a little you wouldn’t be too bad.”
