Christopher Schade

Christopher Schade was born in Austin, Texas and grew up there and throughout Latin America in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Peru. Schade received his Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of Texas at Austin in Plan II Honors Humanities and Studio Art in Painting and then received his Masters in Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking from Yale University. He has had solo exhibitions at dberman gallery in Austin, Texas and Conduit Gallery in Dallas, Texas. His group exhibitions include shows at GRG gallery, Geoffrey Young Gallery, Brian Morris Gallery, Sampson Projects Gallery, and The Contemporary Austin Jones Center His work has been reviewed in the Huffington Post, Hyperallergic, Dallas Art Revue, Austin American-Statesman and The Austin Chronicle. He is a founder of the Artist Lecture Series in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and has curated numerous group shows most recently “Prime Matter” which opens this month at the Teckningsmuseet in Laholm, Sweden. He currently teaches at drawing at Montclair State University and Hudson County Community College in New Jersey and painting in Paris, France for International Studies Abroad.
