Lei had moved past him to the bathroom, intending to wait him out, hiding in hopes he would give up. She waited for several minutes, but as he stuck around she eventually was forced to come out. The redhead groaned quietly, walking quickly to pay for what she’d gotten, and hopefully walk past him. She never made eye contact, worried he might catch her too soon... Before she had open space to run from him, and be the natural thief she’d become after life in Bilgewater.

She looked up staring the taller man right in the eyes. They were similar, if not the same, to Yone’s. She couldn’t grasp his thoughts and wasn’t going to voice hers just yet. The Templar had told him about what had happened and was waiting for his response. Would he agree to take her on board, or would he cast her out for provoking his brother’s death?

He purposely faded his voice for the sake of an audial pun, edging in closer around the genius’s side, smirking as he gently nudged Ekko’s shoulder.

                  ＂You’ll never guess what I lifted from the market.＂

He didn’t bother to wait for a reply; he pulled up his small hands, balled into tight fists, and dumped on the nearest table an assortment of small, unusual candies. Perhaps there were seven in total, enough to fit into both of his fists. Then he reached into his pockets and produced eight more.

                  ＂I dunno what they are or where they’re from, but I had one an’ it was real good. Wanna try one? ＂

Gina knocked on the door, hearing some loud banging and wondering what could be going on. “Hello? Is everything alright in there?”

When she’d walk in, she’d find his work shop torn apart, and several large pieces of metal on the floor near one of his work benches... Collapsed into several pieces. He was busy trying to fix the area, barely noticing her coming in, though he heard her voice just fine. “It’s fine, nobody’s been hurt,” he called, “Just a minor malfunction.”

"...Why are you here?" Kibun asked tiredly, leaning on the open front door. "It's 3 AM..." (To Lei)

Lei sighed and glanced away. Did he really have to ask? If she was here, she clearly needed help. Couldn’t he just let her in? Like she would come here with any other choice... “Yeah, it’s late. So let me in and we can both fall asleep. I won’t be a bother,” she replied quietly, not her usual tone. Confident, even snarky... No, right now she was biting back fear, praying to a God she didn’t believe in she could just get to sleep peacefully...

Lei has to keep repeating this to herself as Kibun is fast asleep on her lap. The most uncomfortable feeling in the world. She’d only invited him because she wanted to see Serena, but she had canceled last minute, and now here she was. Playing a movie, trying to be polite, and he falls asleep and falls into her lap. He was lucky he didn’t just end up on the floor.
