Chronotony is a theatrical endurance piece based on work by H.P. Lovecraft. In it a student is shown an ancient crystal by a strange professor. The student sees all of time, swinging from the crystal’s arrival on the planet, to the terrible world it creates far in the future. The play eventually zeroes in on the moment when the boy looks into the crystal and is shown all of time, swinging from the past to the future, and zeroing in on… ect. Each iteration of the play lasts about twenty minutes. The first moment is the same as the last, and repeats as many times as necessary. The audience is free to enter when space is available for them, and to leave when they need to. Chronotony has been performed twice, and an audio drama adaptation is in the works.
