I'm loving how in a lot of Corbeau fics, his approach to courtship is like that one episode of SpongeBob where Mr. Krabs keeps getting all those gifts for Mrs. Puff and tries to make SpongeBoy MeBob prevent him from spending money with absolutely no success whatsoever.

But Philippe is SpongeBob and Corbeau didn't ask him to stop him, and Philippe isn't really opposed entirely, he just wants his boss to maybe calm down a bit and also reconsider his intentions to propose after only like two weeks, you know?

Corbeau loves you so much that it’s almost self-deprecating.

Corbeau doesn’t know who he is with you.

It’s not a bad thing.

He’s soft, and gentle in a way he didn’t think he could be. Corbeau is a man who’s built so many walls, and suddenly he has none, and he has no idea what you did to break them down.

You don’t either, really.

He knows he’s a very troubled man. Corbeau never cared about the sins that weighed his shoulders down, but now? He needs to be the best version of himself he can be, whatever that is, for you. Corbeau needs to take care of you, to hold you, to kiss you, to make you smile. Corbeau needs to love you more than he needs air.

He’s lived an entire life without you, and, yet, he doesn’t know what he would do if he lost you now. Corbeau would still have the city, and his syndicate, but, without you, he wasn’t sure who he’d be outside of those. You’ve helped him to grow, and evolve further from that young kid Lysandre took in so long ago, even if you don’t know that.

Lysandre saw himself in Corbeau, as he often told him. Corbeau sees Lysandre in his mirror, until you come up behind him. You wrap your arms around his waist and place a tender kiss on his shoulder. When he looks back at the mirror, he sees himself, a man he barley knows, and you, his most precious love.

Okay but how blind do you headcannon Corbeau as?

Because now I'm just imagining him losing his glasses somehow (tussle with a wild Pokémon? Scolipede being mischievous?) and him clinging onto you while you're helping him look for them while he's also trying to make it look like he's guiding you instead.

I definitely think Corbeau is pretty blind- nearsighted for sure. Anything past a few feet infront of his face becomes a blur, he probably wouldn’t be able to tell grunts apart without his glasses.

And as someone who’s lost their glasses? You definitely have to help him find his glasses at least once, even if he does have a glasses retainer.

Corbeau places his glasses on the bedside table before bed, and scolipede knocks them off when he joins you two in bed. Then, the morning comes, and he’s in a panic. He can’t find his glasses, he doesn’t remember where his spares are.

It only takes you a few moments to find his glasses under the bed.

He huffs when you place his glasses on his nose, gently pushing them up. “I would’ve found them.”

“Maybe eventually.” You smile and yawn, kissing the tip of his nose.

You both know he wouldn’t have found them.

Seeing Corbeau in sweats/casual clothes for the first time. He's usually so put together and dressing down makes him look so vulnerable and relaxed... He's like a whole other person

I imagine the first time you see Corbeau in his sweats, lounging around on the couch, is so terribly eye opening. For the first time your relationship with Corbeau feels real, becuase this is Corbeau at his rawest. This isn’t Corbeau, cunning boss of the Rust Syndicate, this is just Corbeau, and you’ve been blessed enough- trusted enough- to meet this man.

Also, he’s absolutely fucking gorgeous with his messy hair and sweats hanging low on his hips, glasses hanging low on his nose, so there’s that.

Being in a relationship with Grisham and/or Griselle is fun until you realize they have not spent a full day apart since team flare fell, and that is now your problem.

You don’t realize how bad their relationship is until you’re with Grisham on their day off. Grisham texts Griselle and doesn’t get a response within an hour. Suddenly he’s tense and uneasy, now calling her and texting her repeatedly. He even goes upstairs to her apartment, and uses his spare key to walk right in. When she’s not there, he’s freaking out. Despite your best attempts to keep him level headed, he doesn’t calm down until Griselle comes back with groceries and a dead phone. She makes no comment about him being in her apartment, rather she implies she’s relieved to see him.

After that, you start to notice more.

Grisham can’t make a decision without consulting Griselle. Griselle buys something for Grisham every time she goes to the store.

After a long day of working together, they spend every night on FaceTime as they do chores or cook or sit in silence. Even after dates with you, they’re immediate to at least text the other with an update.

It’s obvious you’re loved by them. Never once has your partner made you feel rejected for the other, but I do think they just expect you to be another member in their little circle of dependency, and there’s some angst to be had if you decide to point out this might be unhealthy behavior.
