The amazing @lovermyme drew Winged!Spider from my fic, chrysopteros, and I completely screwed up and didn't post it for like three months — please, give them all the love and kudos they deserve for creating this beautiful piece of art!!

Hiiiiiiiii love ur fanfics- but if spider (in tabula rasa ) had wings like spider in ‘chrysopteros’ how would that have gone??

I think it would've made Miles' experience at Bridgehead very, very different, to the point it would be almost unrecognisable - like, there's no way he ever would have been allowed to apprentice with Ian, and I doubt they'd have been so bothered about educating him either as I've establish Winged don't really have mainstream jobs or education past the point of their wings coming in - although maybe they'd seek to change that as he'd literally be the only one around and there wouldn't be any set 'rules' for how Winged are supposed to live on Pandora (as opposed to the very rigid rules on Earth that have been established for a very long time).

The other big change would probably be his and Quaritch's relationship, and I can see it going one of two ways: either it makes their relationship even more unbalanced, with Quaritch being seen not just as his father but I guess almost his owner, or it could've meant the two of them weren't ever really left to build any kind of connection between them, and Spider would remain with the labcoats once all the information that could be gotten from him had been extracted and he was then just a scientific curiosity/behavioural experiment.
