5 Questions with Chu ________________ What motivates you? Heaps of stuff motivates me to be honest. My mum, coffee, sunsets and meeting new people. Basically whenever I'm sort of happy and content, it leads to me making beats. My biggest inspiration or motivator though is new and different music. So motivating listening to a new tape from someone you've never heard of and being super inspired by it. What's the best part of what you do? The best part of what I do..? well its probably, just being in the studio vibing out. When I'm jamming out and coming up with ideas I'm always in my element. You sort of forget about the bullshit in life. Social Media, work and stress seems to just leave for a little while. What most inspiring thing a listener of your music told you? This one guy told me once after a show that he wanted my sound cloud link so he could download a song to walk down the Isle too at his wedding. Not sure if it ever happened. She probably left him due too his obscure taste in music. (laughs) Does a specific state of mind or mood generate your best work? Not exactly a mind state or anything like that. But I do find that if I stay in on a Saturday night and drink coffee, around 3am I get this crazy motivation to just write stuff. I think that's when my best stuff comes out. Spontaneous 3am sessions. It's so quiet at that time. What's next for yourself? Got a few tracks ready for releasing now so just trying to sort a couple of things out and they'll be dropping. Trying to submit to a couple of labels as well at the same time. Also trying to collate a bunch of sort of left over beats from my hard drive to make another messychops release before the years out.
