What are you head cannons about Caregiver Chuuya taking care of Little Akutagawa?

Ough so many… The angst potential with this duo is endless. I’ll try to keep it fluffy however the angst can’t be completely contained…

Caregiver Chuuya + Little Akutagawa

⛦ Starting off with the age range as usual! Akutagawa is an itsy bitsy baby regressor at the ripe old ages of 1-3. His regression is an incredibly vulnerable and fragile thing, he desperately wishes to regress to an easier to deal with age range, or one that’s more self sustainable, however he just gets so overwhelmed and he ends up feeling so small and just… He’s just a baby guys trust

.ᐟ I’m just gonna be angsty at the start and cushion the fall with the fluff. And hope the fluff is enough cushion later :3 They are. Both. Imagining the other as Dazai. Akutagawa wants Dazai to be the one taking care of him, praising him, holding him so gently in his arms, the next best thing is his mentors partner. Chuuya meanwhile just lost the person he trusted the most with absolutely no warning, how can he not feel at least a little bit betrayed? So how does he fill up that hole in his heart that Dazai left? Find the person who Dazai hurt and push every ounce of his care and love onto them. Their dynamic is built on pain hurt and betrayal and it’s brought then so much closer

⛦ Uhh who said that? Idk guys… Chuuya spoils little Akutagawa rotten! He always keeps his kitchen stocked with foods that are easy on the babies throat, keeping certain small snacks of strong textures and flavor for the purpose of drowning out the taste and feeling of pills. If Akutagawa mentions a toy he used to have before the mafia times Chuuya will hunt down every toy seller ever to find an exact replica if not the exact one. Plus of course the usual baby gear and plushies and clothes!

.ᐟ Akutagawa doesn’t take care of himself in the slightest, that’s why Chuuya does it for him! He makes sure Akutagawa eats three meals a day, sending the boy home with meals or inviting him over to eat and cooking in the morning. He sets a bedtime, always calmly and carefully explaining why it’s necessary for Akutagawa to get his rest. Akutagawa only fights it during work hours! So he usually fights eating lunch or if he was instructed to do work at home, but other than that he’s pretty willing! He’s not aiming for self sabotage, he just sort of forgets about his needs. Plus switching from living off of garbage scraps to three meals a day isn’t good on his tummy, he needs to be slowly eased into it and he never cared to do that on his own

⛦ Akutagawa strongly supports the idea of setting up a rule system, however the very first time he even like accidentally broke a rule he had an absolute sobbing breakdown and the next morning when he was out of headspace Chuuya was like. Yeah uh. No. No rules for you. Not after that. Akutagawa however still memorized the rules they initially set and a lot of the time he acts like those rules are still in play and Chuuya has to calmly explain to him that he doesn’t have rules anymore, that Chuuya’s not going to punish him and he didn’t do anything wrong. Akutagawa agrees, however he immediately disregards everything Chuuya says

.ᐟ Akutagawa is such a clingy baby. He never wants to be set down, he doesn’t want to be abandoned, being alone is scary. Chuuya has the perfect ability for a clingy little one though! He can make Akutagawa light as a feather and balance the little boy on his hip while he does anything he needs to do! He’ll float things instead of carrying them so that his hands are free to hold Akutagawa too. And honestly on the topic of clingy little Akutagawa and abilities I imagine Akutagawa will send out little Rashomon strips to cling to Chuuya

⛦ I don’t think Akutagawa plays much, it all just feels so unnatural to him, he struggles even to draw or color. Meaning when he does Chuuya cherishes everything so much more! Each of Akutagawa’s drawings is absolutely cherished on Chuuya’s fridge, the only time they’re taken off is if Chuuya’s traveling because he wants to take them with him for encouragement. Akutagawa absolutely loves seeing his drawings on the fridge. It feels like he really belongs here, like he has a home, that’s his evidence right there, and that means the world to him

I could’ve added onto each and every headcanon here expanding on the angst of picturing each other as Dazai in some way but I didn’t because I’m nice and give you people fluff
