Finished the Final Fantasy X Will audio drama and am now fully caught up on the entire FFX series.
First and foremost, the thing everyone agrees on with this: bringing Sin back is incredibly stupid. I sincerely hope that if they ever follow this up with an X-3 that it's a fakeout and the beckoned Sin is defeated early on.
It also bothered me that Yuna had retreated back to her more stoic FFX self instead of her open shell from X-2. Maybe there was a reason for it in the year timeskip before this is set, but I don't like it.
Everyone also brings up Yuna saying "I like someone else" and breaking up with Tidus but it is extremely obvious that she's doing this to keep him safe and not get him involved with the Sin fight. Like the conversation Tidus has with Lulu absolutely hammers home how Yuna is not actually over Tidus and Tidus is an idiot for not realizing what she's doing.
Chuami is a really really fun character. I like her a lot, best part of the audio drama. Need more of her tremendously. Kurgum is also good in his banter with her, though on his own seems whatever.
The spirits of the dead coming back from the Farplane is an extremely cool story hook. The absolute biggest reason I want X-3 is to see where that story goes.
Maybe once the 7 Remake series is done we'll finally get an X-3 to follow up on this and the novel. That feels like it's so far away though, who knows how long it'll be for all of 7R to finish.
