I have said this many times but I can just imagine him so perfectly getting chubby, like all those pictures we have of him drinking beer 😩😩 and the calories in alcohol can so easily add up (mild intox warning for under the cut)

maybe he takes a break from acting, maybe to direct some of his own stuff, whatever the reason, he suddenly has more free time where he doesn't have to worry about his diet for his upcoming role

I think his natural body type is a bit leaner than what he trains for, so imagine in his mind he's like "it takes a lot of work to gain muscle, that means I have a fast metabolism, so I won't gain fat very quickly either" an easy justification for droping pretty much his entire diet and training regime

maybe he still enjoys lifting, but some extra calories might even help with that, so what if he doesn't even really notice the gain at first

he's taking a break, so he's wearing mostly loose comfortable clothes, his days are spent catching up on movies and shows he hasn't had the time to watch, slow walks with Dodger and the evenings are spent in various bars hanging out with friends he's spent way too little time with while he was working

so yeah he's getting comfortable, settling into a slower life and hey he's in his fourties, it'd be totally normal for the middle-aged spread to set in, nothing to worry about

ok his jeans pinch a bit when he puts them on, his belt buckle digs into his stomach when he's sitting down, it's not like he has a real belly, it's just a bit more of a curve instead of the toned abs he maintained for most of his roles

and it's not all bad, he's gotten compliments on how he's bulking up, his arms get thicker, his chest looks bigger (his waist does too but that pretty much evens out, right? :D)

appearance is like 80% of an actor's job, since Chris is anxiety-prone anyway maybe he worries about it, putting together diet plans when he wakes up after another evening spent in some bar(s), but this is also nice, a vacation, so he waits with bated breath for the other shoe to drop

it never does

5lbs, turn into 10, maybe 15lbs, his shirts start clinging to the growing curve in his middle, he can still suck it in and flex and he looks like he used to, it's not that much weight, but Chris finds his hands drifting there nonetheless

there's something about it.. especially when he comes home late at night with his belly full of beer and bar food, when he's tipsy and relaxed, his posture is loose, maybe there's even still a smile playing around his lips as he undresses to fall into bed

his knuckles brush his bloated belly as he tries to undo the button on his jeans, that's been getting harder lately, but when he finally manages it the zipper slides down on its own when the beer bloat settles lower on his middle, instinctively he cups the swell of his lower belly

it perfectly fills his palm, warm excitement bubbles up in his chest, like he suddenly has too much energy where he just wanted to crawl into bed a minute ago, he scratches over the sensitive skin to alleviate the excited buzzing, it does nothing except make him want to touch more, explore, really push his limits

there's a certain spirit for competition needed to make it in his profession, a drive that takes Chris over now and stirs him into the kitchen, not the bedroom

just a snack, nothing crazy, maybe another beer, it's barely past 1 am

he grabs a pack of peanuts and a beer, some water too, as fun as this is hangovers are a bitch

just in socks, underwear and a shirt Chris flops down on the bed, he takes a pull from the bottle before he rips open the peanuts, the salt is exactly the thing he needed after a few hours of drinking, he didn't go overboard, just maintained a constant buzz that had him feeling happy, floaty and in exactly the right mood to down an entire package of salted peanuts

it's the perfect feedback loop, salt, beer, salt, beer, the package is empty in no time at all and Chris can almost see his belly bloat from how quickly he finishes the beer, it feels like an achievement when the empty bottle hits his nightstand

with no one around Chris doesn't even try to stifle his burps, sprawled out on the bed, he almost feels like some roman ruler, pure decadence

there's nothing better than running his hands over his belly, it's so round, his sides too, he can't quite grab any fat yet but just being able to pinch a little roll makes him want more, more food and long evenings spent in some dimly lit bar surrounded by the people he loves most, more lazy days and days capped off with a cold beer

his hands travel lower and it's like a switch is flipped, his mind scatters, flooding with images of his bloated belly getting bigger, softer, his entire body, now that he's looking have his thighs gotten thicker? didn't they used to have proper muscle definition?

when he relaxes completely there's a slight jiggle to them, god he can't wait for that to develop properly, action hero figure be damned he needs to know what another 20lbs will look like

Chris goes in for a routine doctor's appointment, a checkup, nothing too important, and, oh, would you look at that? His doctor tells him he's put on weight. His doctor casually asks if he's bulking for a role or something because of it, knowing what he does for work, but Chris isn't. He's enjoying his chill-era, not focusing so hard on working. He hasn't been doing anything differently! But Chris keeps that to himself only to come home and confidently tell Sebastian about it can't be. "I would notice where 15 lbs went if I gained 15 lbs, I'm not oblivious."

But... the thing is, that he is.

He has no idea that he's put on that weight (and is well on his way to add more if he doesn't figure out what he 'isn't doing differently') because it's all in his ass and thighs.

Sebastian knows. He can see it. He wouldn't sabotage himself, though, so he agrees, patting Chris on the back, soothing him, "You're right, you're right. There's no way! There must be something up with the scale they have. You look the same to me, and you look great, babe."

Sebastian is crossing his fingers, wanting nothing more than to know where more weight will end up. Sebastian always fantasized thought, privately, if Chris let himself go, he'd get a big, round beer belly to match his broad, heavy shoulders. But, the idea that he might get all bottom heavy instead has Sebastian's mouth watering. Hear me out okay so on twitter I’ve noticed lots of people point out that at the different gray man premieres Chris’ shirt buttons have been straining and I just can’t help but wonder if you have any ideas regarding that. Bc ik my mind is going wild w Chris evans tittys

2. what if.. those shirts weren't that tight during the initial fitting but Chris really enjoyed his time off after filming

like no more diet plan or scheduled gym time, no personal trainer or dietician to monitor his progress for a certain role, so maybe he goes a bit overboard after starring opposite Ryan Gosling in an action movie

a certain physique was expected of him and that involved lots of work, discipline and restriction which he doesn't have to do after filming finishes

haha also imagine some designer reads the measurements Chris' stylist sends over while he's at his leanest and the designer is like "no, that can't be right" but sure enough when they double-check, Chris actually has those ridiculous proportions

so there's usually some time between when a movie wraps up filming and when it comes out and the premiere happens, I think The Gray Man wrapped at the end of April and it came out at the end of July

so, that's about three months for him to soften bulk up a bit and really test the stretch of those outfits with his new beefiness

where were we? oh, yeah, 'straining shirt buttons' and Chris' tiddies

ok sooo you probably weren't thinking of a nursing kink but that's where my mind went 😅 so warning for that from here on out

and you know Seb would be all over it like obviously lean Chris is attractive but when he's a bit softer and he looks like he actually enjoys life outside the gym? oh yeah Seb can't resist

the only thing is... this time Chris' weight seems to be really emphasising his pecs, not that his chest wasn't impressive before but when Seb catches a glance of the way Chris' shirt stretches over them, the buttons gaping slightly and then the slight jiggle when Chris throws his head back to laugh and—yep, ok Seb has a new obsession

It's like someone flipped a switch in his mind because suddenly all he can think about is this. When Chris comes back to their hotel room after the premiere still wearing that damn tight shirt Seb can't keep his hands to himself. As soon as the door closes he's on Chris, fumbling for the button on his slacks and trying at the same time to push his hands up under his shirt.

"Hey," Chris laughs and grabs Seb's wrists, "what's gotten into you?"

Seb honest to god whines at the question. He doesn't want to think or talk, he just needs— he just—

His mind catches up to what he's been thinking and Seb realises with a start that he isn't even looking at Chris' face but right at his chest. That makes his head snap up but the blush is already spreading on his cheeks and creeping down his neck.

"Well, now I really want to know," Chris teases. He smiles widely while dread settles in the pit of Seb's stomach. He can't actually— His eyes flick down to Chris' chest again before Seb can stop himself.

"Oh. Oh, honey, I know I bulked up a bit but I didn't know you'd get like this."

Seb isn't exactly sure if Chris actually got what got him this riled up but he wasn't about to correct him and distract them from finally taking this to bed.

"So, what exactly is it? Because I've put weight on before and you never got quite this... enthusiastic."

Fuck.

Seb couldn't find his voice nor the words to explain exactly what he'd been thinking about. Vague flashes of a fantasy he'd never fully articulated.

"'s just, um, I've been thinkin' of..." Seb trails off and squeezes his eyes shut to try and concentrate on talking but all it does is make those thoughts clearer.

"Ok, it's difficult to talk about, hm? It's something sexual I know that."

Seb hides his face in his hands but he nods slightly when Chris waits for an answer.

"Did you discover a new kink, honey?"

He shudders at the pet name. They slipped so easily into Chris' speech but Seb noticed every time.

which means if he were to idk... stuff himself full of tasty buffet food, those buttons would pop right open

and once he has to get up to walk to the car to get home.. the only way they could stay closed at all would be to suck in his belly, which is very difficult if you're so full it's difficult to even take a full breath

(I had the exact same thoughts about that leather-imitation shirt with snap buttons Seb wore to that Jimmy Kimmel show ...am I obsessed? maybe 😂)

@wotvagyok has brought up the great idea that maybe Seb keeps going to the buffet table and bringing Chris more food, small plates of finger food, Chris doesn't even notice how much he's eating or how many glasses of sparkling wine he's had

Seb can barely keep his hand off the round, little belly that's pushing out against those buttons, they look so close to popping open and yet Chris keeps eating plate after plate while chatting with reporters and other guests at the premiere

even though Seb tries to stay in the background with how often he's walking back and forth a few reporters have stopped him to ask what he's doing here today, does he have a role in the movie too?

he tries to get rid of them as quickly as possible, he doesn't want any of the attention on him tonight, just as he reaches Chris' side again it happens

the straining button right over the roundest part of Chris' belly pops open

Seb doesn't even think before he puts his hand over the gap, he offers the people Chris was talking to a charming smile and a lame excuse before he whisks Chris away to a backstage area

"I can't believe you ate all that," Seb groans.

He slides his hand underneath the shirt which makes more of the buttons pop open. Chris smiles down at Seb whose wholly focused on his stuffed belly.

"I can't believe it took this long for that button to pop, that shirt was tight before we even got here. Now after all that food and the wine!"

"Yeah, and how much of that wine did you have?" Chris asks, trying to hold back his laughter.

Seb is looking up at him with shiny eyes, his face is flushed from the alcohol and he straightens up to kiss Chris.

"Enough to not care if anyone sees us."

"That much? We should probably get home then. Where there's an actual bed."

"No," Seb whines into the crook of Chris' neck. He places kisses there too, gets a bit nippy when Chris tries to keep them moving.

"We can go home," Seb says, "if you can keep that shirt buttoned all the way to the car."

Chris sighs, that might be an impossible demand but he's determined to try. He takes a deep breath and then tries to suck in his stuffed belly just enough to close the buttons.

It works!

For about a second.

The moment Chris takes a shallow breath the button right over his belly button pops open again.

"Damn!" Chris takes a few deep breaths and runs his hands over the curve of his belly.

"Gimme a minute," he pleads with Seb when he starts crowding Chris against a wall to keep kissing him.

"Everyone is out there. We can just go back to your dressing room."

Chris takes another deep breath, buttons up his shirt again and heads straight for his dressing room.

Because there is no way he can hold his breath long enough to get all the way to the parking lot.
