Can we have some facts about Chuck?
Yes of course!
Chuck is my Deltarune darkner OC, and she belongs in Vinyl Valley! (A setting by the lovely @sunflower-dreamboat )
In the real world Chuck is an old broken lava lamp. Because she doesn’t work anymore she’s long been relegated to the dingy storage of Hometown Music Store, far before it ever shut down.
Suffice to say, she’s a tad bitter about it. She’d love to get a chance to be creative too! Make art! Music! But hey, what’s an old lava lamp to do other than recycle the same old bubbles…?
(After an unceremonious confrontation, she learns to be more self-assured in her art, and mellows out a fair bit!)
Some random factoids:
- Visually she’s inspired by 70s fashion, anglerfish, shadow puppets, drinky birds, and secretary birds.
- Initially she was supposed to be inked-over sheet music, and had a much less colourful design… you can see remnants of this in her “gloopy” shapes and the stripes on her pants. I just liked those.
- If Chuck was a Lightner, I think she’d be a fish-type monster with an anglerfish lure.
- Her name is “Chuck” because I thought it evoked the idea of something getting broken…. But also because I thought it sounded very butch.
- The Shadowguys are her cousins.
