The primary thing a girl is taught in her life, is to be a caregiver. They are told to be an obedient daughter who listens to her parents' decisions, an obedient wife who supports her husband and takes care of her children, an obedient daughter in law who takes care of the in laws. Girls are taught to fit themselves in a box. She can't be too ambitious, can't be too opinionated, can't express her desires or sexuality. Even working women are expected to take care of the household otherwise they are called selfish. At every step, she is designed to put the needs of others before her own. Ek achhi ladki dusro ka khyaal rakhti hai. Ek achhi ladki chup reheti hain. We see most of our mothers being the exact potrait of the bhale ghar ki bahu beti. But we also see them losing themselves and their individuality over time. It is a curse disguised as a blessing to be a bhale ghar ki bahu beti.
