“Fine, just do what you have to do.” - “Can you stop being so freaking cute so I can concentrate?”It’s an office au secret relationship what more do people wantThis has a slightly clunky ending but I really owe you some things and I wanted to get this out please enjoy!!
Arthur made no claims regarding any aptitude for technology. He wasn’t incapable by any means; he was a young man living in the 21st centuryafter all, it was impossible for him not to understand the basics of using acomputer. But he was so otherwise incapable when it came to having anydifficulties with keyboard shortcuts and various device managers that hisco-workers had taken to teasing him relentlessly about it. He over thought itall. He tried to go into settings or task manager and panicked when he had toend a task or run a scan out of fear he’d delete everything. His home computerwas a mess of files he never cleaned up for that exact fear. Hell, even hisphone was several years old out of fear he’d lose the convenience of astraightforward layout in favour of apps he didn’t use.
But Arthur didn’t mind having so little ability when it cameto technology when the IT guy was so incredibly hot.
Alfred, the sun kissed God of an IT guy, had started workingat the office a couple of years after Arthur and Arthur, being useless as hewas, had quickly become acquainted with the man given that he seemed to spendjust as much time at Arthur’s desk as he did. His co-workers had teased him forit, claiming that Arthur had grown somehow more inept with technology just tohave an excuse to call Alfred to his desk. And yes, maybe on just a couple ofoccasions when Alfred was first hired he may have tugged a wire or two loosejust to see Alfred’s handsome face appear around the corner. But he wasn’t sobad as to deliberately download viruses just to get Alfred’s attention. Unlikesome other people in the office.
Arthur, however, didn’t need an excuse like that to see hisboyfriend anymore.
They’d started dating about a year after Alfred had beenhired. Apparently somewhere in all those visits to his office Alfred haddecided Arthur was cute and asked him out. However, the necessity of keepingtheir relationship a secret had meant that Arthur had gotten significantlybetter at dealing with technology. He avoided having Alfred in his office asmuch as possible, far too aware of Alfred’s cheeky nature and his own inabilityto say no to him and only too able to guess that if they spent too long togetherhe’d just have to kiss him. And they couldn’t risk that when anyonecould walk in.
But still, sometimes computers simply eluded him. So whenhis screen had turned blue and then promptly shut off, Arthur had been forcedto call him down.
“Can you fix it?”
Arthur bit his lip, watching anxiously as Alfred inspectedsome wires under the desk. He heard a snort, and then promptly scowled whenAlfred reappeared to give him a look.
“Can I fix it, I have a whole ass degree incomputing, babe. A routine blue screen is nothing.”
“I told you not to call me that at the office!” Arthurexclaimed, looking furiously behind them as if someone would come barrellingthrough the closed door and overhear a word from fifteen seconds ago.
“Okay, sugar.”
Arthur spluttered, glued to the spot for a moment whileAlfred hummed and took a seat in his office chair. He collected himself after amoment, taking a quick couple of steps over to perch himself on the edge of hisdesk, arms crossed.
“You have no self control.” He huffed, turning to look atwhatever it was Alfred was fiddling with now.
“And you are so cute when you’re flustered.” Alfred glancedup at him, a signature mischievous grin on his features that had Arthur’s warmcheeks heat further in embarrassment.
He opened his mouth, having to shut and open it againseveral times before he determined he had no immediate witty retort. Instead,he looked away, clearing his throat as he stared at the opposite wall and didhis best to retain some dignity.
“I’m not flustered I’m just...slightly miffed.”
Alfred snorted.
“Yeah you are. You’ve got your arms crossed and that littlescowl and you’re blushing the way you always do when I say something thatembarrasses you.” Alfred grinned up at him, though Arthur of course onlynoticed from the corner of his eye, absolutely determined not to react untilhis computer was fixed and he could return to work. “It’s cute, makes me wantto kiss you.”
Despite himself, Arthur’s cheeks reddened.
“Just shut up and fix my computer.”
“Only if you give me a kiss.”
Arthur finally looked back to him, flustered expressionreplaced with open and startled shock. He scoffed, though Alfred’s mischievousexpression was unaffected.
“Are you blackmailing me?”
“Only a little.”
Arthur narrowed his eyes, sparing the briefest glance to thedoor just to ensure it was securely closed before looking back to Alfred. Theyhad rules; no flirting at the office, no touching at the office, and certainlyno kissing at the office. But, no one enforce those rules aside from them, andwith each passing moment in Alfred’s company Arthur was only ever the moretempted to forget the computer and kiss his boyfriend for a while instead.
He would never, of course, but a wry smile still grew on hisfeatures
“Fix it, then we’ll see about kisses.”
“Ah, no can do.” Alfred sat back in the chair, crossing hisarms as if he was some stock broker carefully making a deal. “I needconfirmation on getting that kiss or I can’t do the work.”
Arthur paused, holding Alfred’s gaze as he considered thedeal. It was decidedly hard not to laugh when Alfred had pulled his glassesdown, peering over them at him as if to lend him some authority in their lifechanging deal. Arthur broke, rolling his eyes and letting a smile spread acrosshis features.
“Fine,” he rolled his eyes. “just do what you have to do.”
Alfred grinned, sitting forward again in his chair andreturning to whatever technical thing he’d been working on before Arthur becamea distraction.
“Well then.” He began, pressing a couple of buttons, thoughArthur didn’t look anywhere beside his boyfriend’s face any longer. “Can youstop being so freaking cute so I can concentrate?”
He rolled his eyes, but still despite himself Arthur laughed.Alfred grinned at the sound of it, and Arthur spared no glance towards the dooras he leaned down to cup Alfred’s face and kiss him. He could feel Alfred’ssmile against his lips, and he knew very well he shouldn’t have held the kissfor nearly as long as he did, but he couldn’t resist.
“I’m going to go and grab a drink. Do you want coffee?”
“Yes please.” Alfred leaned forward, stealing another peckand prompting more laughter from Arthur’s lips.
“Okay.”
Arthur straightened up, well aware that he should’ve had far more self control than he displayed. But he didn’t care, Alfred made him smile, and he only quieted that smile down to his usual, apathetic expression when he opened the door, leaving his silly boyfriend and his silly attitude hidden behind with the broken computer.
Summary: Arthur owns a store called Glass World because he designs and sells stained glass. His sign breaks and says ‘ass world’.
A/N: Lmao requested after I made the au prompt. @chunruu 👀 Bribed me as well.
The life of Arthur Kirkland could be described as anything but exciting. Not to say that his life was boring, oh no. He had a nice job of course, designing and making stained glass fixtures for businesses and churches. ‘Glass World’, a bland name, but it got the point across fairly well. His love life was somewhat lacking, but that's what cats were for right? He had two of the little buggers running around his house. His life was average. Not exciting, but certainly not boring.
Nothing stays the same for so long though, and so on a fateful stormy afternoon as the power is knocked out, Arthur doesn't hear the two loud pops from his sign out front. Thunder had drowned out the sound, making him blissfully unaware of his predicament. His beloved shop sign now read ‘Ass World’ in large red letters.
At first it seemed that no one had noticed. Life went on as usual, but Arthur found the amount of people loitering in front of his store to take selfies was increasing at an alarming rate. He had never understood the appeal of scrunching his face up just to take a picture of himself. If he needed his own picture taken, someone else could take it for him properly. At least the people out front were harmless, and perhaps if he was lucky, one of them may be an actual customer.
Days went on like this, random passerby taking a photo with his storefront, and occasionally some would stop in. At least this selfie business was netting him a few small jobs, though the way some of these people giggles incessantly wore down his nerves. Their faces would sometimes turn red from them attempting to stifle their laughter. Honestly, what could be so funny?
Yet another week passed before a familiar face stepped into Arthur's shop. Tanned skin, golden hair, and a blinding white smile caught his attention. Striking blue eyes settled onto his own green ones, causing him to take a step away from the counter. “Good heavens, Alfred, when did you get back in town?”
That smile brightened, if that were even possible, and the blonde made his way over to Arthur. “Nice to see you too, Artie. I actually just got here, saw the store sign, and I just had to pop in.”
Arthur shook his head, smiling fondly as he relaxed against the counter. “You should have at least gone to see your parents first.” He gave Alfred's shoulder a slap. “I'm nowhere near as important a visit they are.”
That had Alfred laughing, that carefree attitude the same one Arthur had fallen for in high school. If only he hadn't been a two years above the lad, maybe they could have been sweethearts. Ah well, no use in wishing for the past. He held out a hand to shake Alfred's, though he knew the lad would surely pull him into some form of bear hug. Always so affectionate.
As if on cue, Alfred did just that. He tugged Arthur forward with his offered hand, landing the smaller man inside the circle of his arms. The hug felt so nice, those warm arms settled on Arthur's back. He felt one travel a little low for his taste, but he wouldn't reprimand the other. Alfred likely hadn't realized it anyway.
That was when Arthur felt a hand on his arse. His cheeks flushed and he pushed at Alfred's chest. “W-What are you-"
“I saw your sign out front.” Alfred's cheeks were red, but his smile was a teasing one. “Ass World, huh? Does that mean your ass is for sale? Cause if it is, I'm totally interested in buying~”
Arthur's brain was damn near short circuiting before he registered thag he was being flirted with. “I-I would prefer if you bought me dinner instead-" He began lamely before something clicked in his mind. “-wait, WHAT DO YOU MEAN ‘ASS WORLD?’”
The next few hours were filled with laughter, embarrassment, and a hasty call to a neon sign repair company.
Demon Yao: he scoffs loudly “ I do not require ‘Beauty Sleep’ unlike you mortals my good looks come naturally! Sleep is for the weak, and I am most definitely not weak!” His golden scaled tail twitches sporadically in agitation.
King Ivan: “ I try to get him to adopt a normal sleeping schedule, but he refuses most of the time. His always telling me that demons don’t require sleep, but after a couple of days he tends to become grumpy. Finally figured out he just needed a nap, but getting him to agree was a whole other battle.” He quickly glances at the still fuming demon making him smile slightly “In the end, it turns out low temperatures make him sleepy, I got him to rest for about 12 hours last time. He was much more….cooperative after that. Though I have to agree with him, his always looked uh very….put together no matter how much sleep his gotten”
((My home girl hey! Not sure if this was meant for just Ivan or not so I had both answer lmao thank youuuu 😘❤️🙏))

"I'm wearing sweatpants and a baggy T-shirt. Why are you eyeing me like that?"
The edges of Alfred's lips pulled themselves up into a mischievous grin. He hadn't expected Arthur not to notice, he was being quite conspicuous with his manner of 'checking out'.
"Does that even matter?" He hummed in response, hitting the small circular button on his phone to switch the device off.
Arthur cast his gaze awkwardly to the side, as if unsure of how to answer.
"I can still think you're hot when you're hiding your skin, Art." The taller of the Alphas sighed, swinging his legs off the side of the bed and toying with the fabric of his khaki shorts.
"...That's charming." Arthur answered nonchalantly, albeit somewhat hesitantly before making his way across the room to his desk- one he had constantly reminded Alfred to stay away from.
It was his desk specifically used for studying, and he knew how boisterous Alfred could get sometimes.. Losing any useful source for his education was always a burden and Arthur knew how to get angry when necessary.
Whilst the Brit began rummaging through his drawers for God knows what, Alfred wondered if Arthur was genuinely unaffected by his compliment and whether or not he should feel offended that he hadn't received the reaction he was hoping for.
They both fell into a comfortable silence, the only sound within the room emitting from the drawer Arthur seemed so immersed in.
Alfred fidgeted. Why couldn't the other look so immersed in him for once? They rarely ever got... What would one say, 'saucy' with each other.
Yes, with those taut thighs protected by that baggy layer of clothing, and that flawless pale skin that the American couldn't resist whenever Arthur got changed in front of him.. It was pretty difficult to not try to spark something up for a bit of fun. Yet, every time Alfred would flirt, Arthur would more than often ignore him.
Within moments, the taller of the two was on his feet and quietly approaching the Brit; footsteps muffled on the carpeted floor.
"What're you looking for?" He asked, peering over the smaller blonde's shoulder. That light musky scent weaving its way up the Alpha's nose and sending his heart fluttering with joy. As much as he would have loved to stay exactly where he was, Arthur seemed to have different plans...
It wasn't long before he felt a weight on his chest, and a flustered looking Brit glaring up at him. He staggered backwards a little at the push delivered through his torso.
Arthur on the other hand, took on a more defensive stance and crossed his arms over his chest, bumping his leg against the drawer to shut it behind him. "What do you think you're doing? I know this dorm's small, but I've given you precise orders on where to not cross, and right now, you're violating that policy."
Alfred watched a hand thrust out to the side of the scolding blonde, finger pointing at a trail of tape the green eyed Alpha had set down the day he had moved in. He stifled a laugh. "Guess I've been naughty."
Arthur didn't seem to find that very funny. "Oh, for God's sake, just bugger off."
"Why should I? What'cha hiding from me?" Alfred probed.
"Like that's any of your business."
"Would you tell me if I went back onto my side?"
"No."
Alfred furrowed his brows and chewed on the inside of his lip. Arthur was being awfully secretive and he wasn't sure if he liked it or not. After all, they were room mates and this desk was for studying so what was it in there that was so embarrassing he couldn't share it with him?
Standing his ground despite Arthur's warnings to move him along, the taller Alpha's eyes began searching for any particular clue or piece of evidence that could give the other away... And that's when he saw it.
At first, Alfred didn't know what to think. Within Arthur's grasp was a brush. Not one you'd find with painting, or one you'd use with your hair, but one for.. Well, the only other thing he could possibly think of was make-up. The tips had progressively turned into a shade of pink; definitely insinuating it was one used to apply blush.
Alfred's eyes slowly widened, and comically, so did Arthur's as they both finally came to realise their current predicament.
"Fuck!" Arthur exclaimed, ears tinting red as he hurriedly hid his hand behind his back and squeezed his eyes shut. It was as though it'd make everything (and everyone for that matter) disappear, but alas it was to no avail.
"Wow, I never thought you did that sort of stuff Arthur," Alfred breathed, his own face heating up a little. He rubbed at the back of his neck, a small smile welcoming itself on his face.
Now he understood why Arthur wanted him gone.
What was he supposed to do in this situation? Arthur was embarrassed and that was cute as heck. Should he play off the whole thing with a tease? No, that'd be a douchey thing to do...
"That's, uh, that's pretty cool!" He blurted, "Not many Alphas are into beauty 'n stuff, y'know? It's awesome you found something you like doing."
Arthur slowly opened his eyes once more, peering up at Alfred through those thick blonde lashes of his with an almost questioning look.
Shit... Was he supposed to say something else?!
"You'd look really pretty in make-up." The American added.
Arthur frowned and reached out to grab at the other's hair, pulling at it with a hiss. "What a dick!" He riposted, his blush spreading across his cheeks. "What are you trying to say?!"
Alfred grabbed at the other's wrists to stop the motion, "Jeez, that's not what I meant!" He protested, "Look, I don't care what you do in your spare time or whatever, but I think you're handsome with or without make-up."
Arthur froze, slowly releasing the blonde tufts within his grasp and shielding Alfred from his line of vision. "I'd call you charming but you're really just a dork." He muttered.
Maybe that was an insult, maybe not, but nothing could deny the beaming smile on Alfred's face when he heard those words. Perhaps they sounded harsh or mean, but he knew very well by now that they were full of good intention.
Within moments, he had pulled Arthur into his arms, smothering his face with all sorts of kisses, and whispering soft 'you're beautiful's between each one.
