Back home! London was a blast - i feel like i've seen more of it than i did the first time i went over ten years ago. Done lots of walking and quite a few museums, then i gave myself an aneurysm looking up real estate prices lmao
Still starry-eyed about the play - not only is it an A+ production, we ran into Sophia Cracroft's actress, Sian Brooke, who was super sweet in spite of our disastrous accent (it's really bad AND one of next year's resolutions for me 😂). We met a bunch of cool ducks outside the venue, two German ladies and a Czech guy, who were also waiting in the hopes of getting stuff signed - and eventually The Man(TM) popped outside to sign stuff, take pictures and chat for a couple minutes. He was so chill and gracious about the whole thing - i still havent recovered tbh 🥰
(I have a lots of thoughts about how pathetic my fangirl streak is - as a grown-up w kids of my own i feel like i should be over this stage, but i'm not... and it was a lovely moment - for us lmao)
Then we went for a drink w the rest of the blessed few, cuddling our signed shite like it was reliquary, which it kinda is in a way. A joyful, unexpected ending to a great evening.
Shutting up now - in case you're interested in this slightly more personal stuff, i'm on Twitter @ CarfaxAsylum where i mostly fangirl over loosely-connected-to-the-Terror things - i posted a few pics from the Maritime Museum that might make you smile (or cry, depending 😂). I'm also on Instagram but i rarely post - i cba to produce content shiny enough for this platform
ANYWAY back to the play itself - it's amazing and absolutely worth seeing even if you're not a tobias menzies fan. The whole cast is incredible, the scenery / direction is so creative and efficient and the score is GOOD. I was clutching my arms for 2 solid hours. The bf said it compliments the movie really nicely, and is both very faithful to it + has its own vibe
