Log
It’s big, it’s heavy, it’s wood. It’s better than bad, it’s good!
It had a nice smell and a flat bottom that tickled my neck like a Vulcan nerve pinch. I’ve never been crushed before, not that I can remember, but I felt my torso crumbling like a beer can. Being tall is great for grabbing dusty jars from shelves and spotting drunk friends in concert crowds but it does not make carrying multi-man logs easier. It’s like being a Jenga Tower, except the wood blocks are internal organs.
Stretch
Before: I spent an hour and a half stretching while reading on my iPad because I’ve got parasympathetic ADD. Work makes my hips and mind crusty. Yin style yoga and self improvement books get my mojo juicy again.
After: There are so many creative ways to make a physical being suffer. My thighs chafed as if I barebacked a horse. My hands and forearms were locking up like eagle claws. The next day, my everything was sore.
Extortion 17
A zen monk said “I beg of you, that you do not waste your life.” It’s not a rational thing to stare the devil in the face. Our mind’s biggest concern is keeping us alive not happy. We think to survive. That algebra equates to shrinking. It’s in our body, in action, that we feel, and those feelings may come fulfilling a childhood dream or standing up for or against something. We have to travel somewhere and some walk from this world following the beat of their heart.
