13, 19, 28, 34, 45 for the fanfiction writer asks thing :)
I 100% forgot I posted that since I ended up passing out and then running errands. Well, alright!
13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?
M/on-el, without a doubt. He’s just the sort of character I’m really tired of seeing everywhere.
19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
The Collide series, without a doubt. I love that damn series. I also have something for Watching her already started, although I’m in no rush to do that one.
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
It’s something I knew, but it’s always different when you’re trying something new...
That, simply, is that you can’t please everyone. I wrote stuff I wasn’t comfortable with in the beginning to try and please my little audience. It left me feeling terrible, and people were still somewhat unpleasant and demanding after trying to fulfill their wishes. There WERE a lot of nice people, of course, but the bad ones always stick out more.
34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
Honestly, I can’t recall. Legitimate criticism isn’t harsh, it’s there to help me improve as a writer. I’ve definitely been criticized over the years, but I’ve taken those times as opportunities to improve. The stuff that was people just wanting me to cater to their whims has all been forgotten, because it’s unimportant.
I’m often more uncomfortable when people rave about how perfect something I wrote is.
45) What spurs you on during the writing process?
Knowing that I can only share a story if it’s finished! I procrastinate a lot, but ultimately I love to share whatever movies have been playing in my head.
(Within reason, of course. I have had loads and loads of ideas that are more meant for myself and maybe a few friends, just to daydream over. I’m not as bad as eloquentdrivil, tho. Just sayin’. She’s the supreme being of too many story ideas.)
