Chyta itself is a thinking being, but because its, well, a planet— its form of thinking and feeling is more abstract. At least when attempting to look at it from a typical mortal perspective. It doesn’t really care about its inhabitants so long as they don’t muck up Chyta willy-nilly. Much like how you don’t really care about your gut bacteria or skin cells. What you do care about is whether they’re healthy and not attacking you and keeping you safe.

So it picks out seraphs (the leaders of the volkri species) simply to make sure the volkri have someone to listen to. Lots of volkri want to believe there’s a special criteria of sorts and Chyta can tell the future or whatever— but again, Chyta doesn’t really care. It’s more akin to taking a supplement. You gotta do it to make sure your body has what it needs.
