The Portal Between the Worlds
There’s a portal between the worlds,
I saw one day fair to see,
Shimmering in the distance,
The portal is invisible, seen by only two, creators, some of the few
The portal is a wormhole Lost in Time, hidden from view
Brave enough to venture into it?
Will it cause their hearts to be lit?
Heroes, creators of two worlds
Being full aware of that Cruel Intentions in one world flares.
A Harbinger emerges, his face haggard and fair, warning the travellers to beware.
“The Time of Lacrimosa is coming,” he says as his cape blows in the wind.
The creators seek to ask his name, but their time with him is at an end.
Another figure comes round the bend,
“Yes, Through a Glass Darkly,”
He begins, taking the creator’s hands.
“And Ghosts of Future Past are assailing, though despite our fears and sorrows sore we know Brede/Breda – and you – will guide the way.”
Across the lea he begins to depart,
Leaving the man and woman, the creators,
Can they complete the task?
Will they see it through?
Clutching at each other’s hands, they brave a smile.
The two, yes, they will see it through!
Contingencies hearken, causing the couple to break apart,
Yet now they know the Origins that lie deep in their hearts.
But lo! Now onto the next part!
Or the act of killing a king will clang throughout the land as a dragon and his boy
Making the creators let out a cheer.
The creators sigh, happy tears in their eyes, as nearby a door shimmies into view.
A farcaster between their worlds,
They turn to each other with a smile,
Taking each other’s hand as they prepare to step through.
Revelling in the landscape of mountains, valleys, trees, yet best of all,
The people and animals that belongs to two – the Bredelands – as their creators hold their gaze.
“We’ll be waiting,” a man and a mammoth, two leaders, say in unison. “Don’t worry; we know you can do it!”
Now at Journey’s End, the creators smile and wave, sad to leave,
But know that they will never have really left since things unseen - dreams, visions, stories – are eternal,
Even though the call beckons them home.
