"They killed him because he dared to challenge the masters of the world." da Barbara Bonanno BNNRRB Tramite Flickr: Salvador Allende (1908–1973) — Chilean physician and socialist President, killed during the military coup in Chile.Salvador Allende was the first Marxist president elected through democratic elections in Latin America. His goal was to build a fairer Chile — nationalizing major industries, redistributing land, and challenging foreign corporate power. On September 11, 1973, a military coup supported by the CIA and U.S. interests bombed the presidential palace, La Moneda. Surrounded and betrayed by his own army, Allende gave a final speech on the radio, defending democracy and dignity until his last breath. He died that day, a victim of those who could not tolerate justice for the poor. This series, “La lavagna della verità,” was created to awaken the collective conscience. Deep down, everyone knows the truth — but it’s time to open our eyes. What is happening in the world cannot be ignored. Adults must support the young who rebel against injustice, oppression, and indifference. I only wish to remember those who gave their lives for what humanity still hasn’t achieved: freedom and truth.
