one thing that kinda pisses me off about ace attorney fans and esp fans of the trilogy with regards to how some of us view the characters is that on occasion we put our queer headcanons before the literal canon dynamics between characters. it fucks over our vision and clouds the way we interact with canon.
i think the most obvious example of this is that if you asked some of us why we did not ship miles + franziska (which, for the record, i DON’T) they would say that it’s because they’re both queer but not a part of the other’s attraction group rather than the fact that they are canonically adoptive siblings*, which is deeply troubling.
and maybe i’m strawmanning a bit but there is a legitimate problem of aa fans allowing their ships to take over their judgement when it comes to character and story assessment. however, that’s not an uncommon complaint.
*the adoption part is the debatable piece of that and i’m not arguing. regardless of your opinion on that, they ARE siblings at the end of the day.
anyway have a nice night or whatever.
EDIT: before my words have a chance to get misconstrued. i use “we” in this instance because i, too, am an aa fan. and engage with content related to it. thanks.
