Traveling Duo
Want to know what happens when someone has 0 impulse control? They do stupid things they think are a good idea; like adding more muses to a blog. As such, please enjoy my impulsive decisions.
The sound of hooves and wooden wheels going over rocky pathways sounded through the air as a pair of travelers crossed into Wallachia. Aside from the noises caused by the wagon they were on the two sat silently. A young woman sat in the back running a needle through some fabric, having perfected the art of knowing right when to pause to avoid stabbing herself with the sewing needle. Every so often she would pause to look at the man who was driving the cart before returning to her own project. More silence filled the air before the woman put down the fabric and stared at the driver once more.
“You know Caine, I get the whole… Let’s help the lesser man with their invading hell force, I really do. However, I also know that the Belmonts’ live here and I’m sure their handling this themselves.” She muttered scooting closer to the man driving the cart.
“Ciara, assuming they could handle an entire invasion by themselves, have you stopped to consider what if it moves out of Wallachia? It’d be an even bigger problem then. It’s better to just come in lend a hand and leave afterwards then let a single-family handle everything” His voice was surprising gentle sounding as he looked over his shoulder at to the girl who sat behind him.
Gunmetal blue eyes met a vibrant pink shade before he turned away to pay more attention on the road. “Though you might want to wear a glamour or something to cover your eyes. They make it pretty obvious there’s something unnatural about you.”
The young woman huffed a little and turned so her back was to him “Yes, yes. I’ll get that done…I always wanted to know what I’d look like with blue eyes like yours…” She mused idly to herself for a few moments before softly sighing a bit and resting her head back slightly. “I wonder what happened here anyway…We should probably stop by a town to get some answers…” She mused lightly, idly going over spells in her mind that could persuade those less versed in the magical arts to speak up honestly.
Caine meanwhile just shook his head and chuckled a bit. “We’re already on our way to the nearest town. We’ll still be a little while, but I’m sure we’ll be able to get all the answers we need from there.” He didn’t add in that it wouldn’t matter if everyone was dead or not; certainly the state of the city would let them know how bad the invasion had gotten.
