Letters R-Z First.../ Previous.../
-Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?
Phainon is better at deluding himself than outright lying, but even that has its limits.
You arent "abducted", and neither are you on house arrest, you're free to go as you wish. You just know that...you have a place to come home to. So, when did home become a thing with thorns? Certainly, maybe, there were others whom you could have shared a happy life with. Someone without all the danger and scrutiny of a Chrysos heir. Someone who you could have had a chance of normalcy with instead of all these…bumps in your relationship.
There is guilt, yes, but that only proves he’s still human. That he still needs you, and you need him too, even if you like to act like you don't. So he's not going to leave you. The day he lets go is the day you both burn to ashes.
-Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?
What brought...all of this on? It's cheesy, but, it's your humanity, your warmth that drew him in. Despite the sun in his hair or the mirth in his voice, he’s so jaded. So tired. A Chrysos heir’s life is always marked by tragedy and hardship, after all. And you, you're just so…inviting and kind and your eyes were so bright and non-judgemental when he first met you. He felt like he could collapse at your feet and you'd invite him into embrace. Subsequent interactions with you further proved this, and before he knew it, the perfect charming smile he practised in the night by mirror was a little more crooked, his chest lighter with more time by your side. His hands don't stop shaking, though.
-Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?
Worried beyond belief. If you look closely enough, you might find a silver gray hair within all that white, because he does stress about A LOT of things. You, of course you. He doesn't want to see you pace yourself exhausted. He doesn't want to see you cry. He doesn't want you to scream at yourself hoarse, he doesn't want to see you throw things around the room he doesn't want you to hurt yourself.
He's there for anything, anything at all and if you'd only accept that you'd see he’s willing, and able, to do anything. You're not going to be able to self isolate because he isn't going to leave you alone for more than a few minutes at a time. He can…understand, how one gets when left alone for too long. But now he has you, and you have him so please. He doesn't want you to go through the same thing, okay? Okay?
-Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?
He's not going to stop you from trying to plead your case, especially to the Chrysos heirs. Phainon is the one Chrysos heir, perfect, without flaw. But with one weakness, of course, and it's you. And a weakness in Phaoinon means a weakness for Okhema because if any harm goes to you, the city burns. None of the other Chrysos heirs are going to even touch that. They have enough sense to know what they're doing is wrong, and what Phainon is doing is wrong. It's understandable that you wouldn't want to see the faces of those complacent in your situation.
And, oh, the Council of elders? No, no, they won't harm you, let alone speak with you for long enough for you to plead your case. One member tried to intimidate Phainon once, mentioning you. Phainon doesn't let the mask slip, but the coldness in those dead blank eyes made the elder laugh, off kilter, and quickly change subject. He went missing for the rest of the day and reappeared with an ashen face after curtainfall hour. He resigned days later.
-Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?
Literally ask him for anything with a call of his name and teary eyes, and he's crawling across the room to be at your feet. You've been so unresponsive, angry and bitter for so long that anything to bring you two closer he’s going to be fighting for. You can get away with this for a good amount of time, relatively. Phainon catches on quick, but he's willing to play along if it makes you happy and brings you closer. Just don't leave him wanting for too long. He's a romantic; kiss his cheek, squeeze his hand, lean against his side and stare into his eyes- he’d be too love struck to do anything more than let this farce continue for a little while longer. Just remember, he's only letting you hold the leash for now.
-Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?
Mentally- he knows you're hurting, but he holds the hope that soon you'll welcome him and you two can heal and grow together. Physically, though is another story. He can hold your wrists and pin you down, or squueze you in his embrace a little too tight. He doesn't want to do anything overt and never on a whim, you'd have to push him past a few points to get him there. But once he’s there, his mind is made.
The only thing he can't stand, or what gets him to freeze is blood. Your blood. If he sees any of that ruby red flowing from you, whether a trail or a gush, he panics. Pinpricked eyes and shaking hands, short of breath like he’s back at his first battle. He’ll grab whatever's nearby, rip his cloak, to staunch the flow. You'd have to be the one to comfort him- and be sure that he wont leave you be for a good while- he’ll be constantly hovering over you like you're going to drop dead any minute, full of remorse and self loathing.
-Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?
This man is a wet somping heap of a loverboy. In a normal relationship you're going to have this grown man at your beck and call, for anything, anywhere. You tell him to jump and he will- and then ask how high. Now, in your predicament, it's still very much the same, with the added addition that murder and coercion, and abuse of power is now forefront on the table, no longer hidden beneath the flowers. If it's not touch, Phainon is very much an acts of service type lover. Everything he does is to prove to you how much he adores you. So won't you do the same?
But, that's only obvious in the case that things fall apart. To be honest, there's a very high chance that you fall for Phainon and never clue in to his tendencies. You might wave them away as the anxiety of a Chrysos heir. Of course, if he slips up, or if you try to leave him is when you're clued in to his darker tendencies. But he doesn't really need to go to any extraordinary lengths to have you fall for him and to keep you in love. He's naturally charismatic and cheery, and full of love for you, so it's easy to be blindsided by that.
-Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?
He waits a bit before making a move. He likes the feeling of a puppycrush, an extra reason to look forward to the day and to get out of bed in despite the searing, burning rage. You're so nice. You're so kind and beautiful that probably a few weeks within knowing you he’s making a move and in a few more weeks- you're together. And it's the happiest he’ll ever be.
As long as you're together Phainon won't really snap. If he knows you're as wildly in love and devoted to him as he is you (impossible) then nhe's relatively stable. Even if the whole world fell apart he’d break before he’d break you, but all it takes is one bad day. So only if you try to leave -try to undermine how much he cares for you and how much he needs this- does he snap.
-Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?
No. You could be resigned, bitter, forever angry and incensed- but it is hard to keep that up. You won't break, but you will acquiesce. Eventually. Through all your phases, through all your lives and stages, he’ll be there for you, always.
