cidnero sketching..
i like the part of post shb where wol runs into aymeric and it sounds like he just slammed down five cans of monster energy before getting off that airship and offering up ishgard's entire supply of ceruleum
anyways here's a quick stupid comic
Since I have been asked to update my opinion after each expansion, here is my "which of the scions I would call to pick me up off the side of road" for Heavensward.
Honorable Mention is airship grandpa, as always.
Tataru: For a large portion of Heavensward the options for pickup are Tataru and Alphinaud, thus is Tataru in the top spot. She had to leave her little pink smart car at home, but she's already made friends with an entire army of craftsman at the Forgotten Knight and has at least three of them on speed dial. Not only will you get a ride soon, it will also be much more comfortable. You will be trapped in the car while they talk about you like a dress up doll though.
Alphinaud: As he is your only other option for most of the story Alphinaud is in second. He also has no car, but luckily rather than trying to solve the issue himself, he's now humble enough to ask for help. Roll a d4. Based on the number rolled you will receive the following outcome.
He calls Cid. You have a working car and probably some neat upgrades within the next hour.
He calls Ser Aymeric. You are picked up by Lucia and brought to the Lord Commander's office and he invites you to have dinner with him. You are, of course, welcome to stay the night.
He calls Estinian. He picks you up in an old stick shift and he extols on the virtues of manual transmissions and explains in detail how automatic transmissions fail much more often and that is likely the problem with your car as well. His car breaks down halfway to Foundation.
He calls Count Edmont who sends Emmanellain (the only one not doing anything). Somehow, Honoroit (14) is driving. Emmanellain insists that it's fine as long as someone in the car has a license. The ride is extremely uneventful, like this is a common occurrence, but once you reach solid ground you and Alphinaud both agree to never do that again.
Urianger: Urianger is pretending he can't see your calls. He'll apologize profusely later, but that doesn't exactly help you now.
Y'shtola: The first of the scions to reappear, Y'shtola can no longer drive. She knows Tataru lost her car, so she's calling Alphinaud.
Krile: Finally an opportunity to share all her stories about Alphie and Alisaie at school. She's there promptly and gets you a coffee on the way back so you have an excuse to talk longer. She throws in a couple of good stories about the other scions as well. Best gossip sesh you've had and you make plans to meet up on Sundays going forward.
Thancred: Thancred will come get you. It will take a long time, and it will be a rather quiet ride. He does ask what the latest excuse for the Lord Commander to visit you was, and how many cities they've asked you to save lately. You miss the silly Thancred a lot.
Minfillia: Phone out of service. :(
Alisaie: Took you off of call filtering last week. Not your first choice, yet defies expectation. She shows up quickly in a reliable vehicle, is really into the music you liked at her age, and is a good driver. She laughs a little too hard at your jokes and you think she may have imprinted on you as the cool older cousin. She has now joined the throng of people constantly vying for your attention.
Lyse: She worked really hard over the last few months to get her license reinstated and in her correct name. She's comes to get you in Papalymo's car. She lectures you on being more responsible, but you can tell she's really talking about herself and trying to fill the void between you.
Papalymo: "You have reached the phone of Papalymo Totolymo, I am unable to take your call right now, please leave me a message after the tone." The mailbox is full and cannot take your message now. Please call back later.
