The jerking yet stiff way the Ghouls move seems like every second they are alive is agony. What you get from killing them even more so confirms the thought: Tear of Frustration, Cie’th Tear. It much more sad to me than it was the first time I played it.
I think I was stuck on the way the Ghouls looked, instead of paying attention to how they moved. No wonder becoming a l’Cie was such an awful thing. If you failed your focus, which I think most l’Cie did, you would become a Cie’th. Doomed to wonder the world in agony until some soul came and put you down.
Oh, god. This is what Snow would have become if Lightning hadn’t brought him out in Lightning Returns. That hurts in a whole new way now. I mean it hurt then...oh, goodness, I’m going to be destroyed when I reach the third game.
