Linktober 2023 – Day 11. Monsters

This one is a bit special I guess! I’m still not over the damn Redeads throwing a party in Ikana Castle, they were both horrifying and absolutely hilarious to me. I love it!

This part of the game was incredible and Stone Tower Temple might be my favorite dungeon ever.

(Fun fact: in French we call Redeads 'Effrois', which is French for terror or dread 🧐)

Linktober Day 7: Undead

A bit of a more simple one for this prompt, but I was kinda pressed for time.

Also, why in the name of Hylia are all redeads so unnerving ahjdbgsvfv gwve

Well, let me put it this way. The graphics were better in Twilight Princess but certainly nowhere near where they could be now. Still,… Arbiter’s Grounds was absolutely TERRIFYING. The redeads and the mini boss Death-Sword was chill-inducing. I didn’t want to go near them.

With Nintendo being more okay with blood, guts and gore lately with their 3rd party horror games, I don’t doubt that they will up the ante on the horror for the Ocarina Of Time remake and make Bottom Of The Well and Shadow Temple the horrifying experience it was always meant to be if not for the limiting hardware of the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo GameCube. So yes, I think those aspects of the remake and definetly the redeads are going to be absolutely terrifying to see.

I would not be surprised if they go for a Silent Hill 2 vibe. When that was remade, Pyramid Head and even Monster Mary was *shivers*. I’m very nervous actually.

I mean let’s be honest. Ocarina Of Time and Majora’s Mask weren’t meant for kids to play. They were adult.

So like, a week ago I had the thought, “redeads are such a classic LOZ monster, but they’ve only been in two games! It’d be neat if TOTK used them, after all, they’re so classic”

and now that TOTK may, in fact, be using them, the ‘it’d be a neat call back to OOT and WW’ side of me is rapidly dying underneath the onslaught of no no no no nO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NOT AGAIN NOT AGAIIIIINNNNNNN

I do this EVERY time without fail. I can easily get my hearts back later but shaking off the discomfort of a Redead fight takes AGES ;v;
