QuiObi Drabble || Novelist!Obi-Wan
I have an Edwardian era AU. Obi-Wan is a novelist and decides to escape to the country to ‘reinvigorate his muse’. I’ve already written a oneshot for it, found HERE. But I want to expand. I want to spins tales of how a boy from the city spends his country days. Many of those hours will involve a certain farmer *winkwink*.
So, I wrote a flashback scene. Obi-Wan remembering his first success as a novelist. I gotta say this boy is so damn endearing. Wandless wizards!

“Wizards?” his mother had cried, “Oh my, what a notion.”
And indeed, it was. For it held little resemblance to the folk tales of old, of spells, wise men, and crookety witches. No, for his story depicted men and, dare some say, women too, who studied the mystic arts of a unifying energy which granted unfathomable abilities to those enlightened to its ways, and by doing so, granted a power to maintain peace and prosperity of the common folk and their lands. And more exciting still, a fact now that still made Obi-Wan giddy at the thought, was that his wizards wielded swords. Imagine that! Wandless wizards who wielded swords!
Obi-Wan found himself continually rejected by publishers who all but said they found the premise ridiculous and a boy-hood fantasy. It was on the whim of a small publisher, looking to make it big with one story, who pinned their hopes on Obi-Wan’s wizards tale. And despite being successfully published and in demand for a sequel, his mother couldn’t be convinced.
