The artist who received the contract for the art in the public rooms during the construction of Union Terminal was a Frenchman named Pierre Bourdelle. Among other things, Bourdelle was asked to decorate the ceilings in the private dining rooms. For the one seen here, he painted three ceiling murals, all featuring elaborate and fanciful plant life. Swipe for a glimpse of the room and it’s #UnionTerminalDecoDetails. This space is occasional included in our free weekend Rotunda tours, and is also a rentable area- contact Private Events for details.
