The best secret passages are also bookcases, at least in my opinion. I think I need one of these installed in my apartment. 📻📚 #HowOftenCanIWearThisSkirt #Circa33 #Portland #Speakeasy #ClawHands (at Circa 33)
Yes, there is a secret bar behind this bookcase. Yes, there is a code. Yes, we got in. I feel really cool tonight. 📚 #ProhibitionParty #Circa33 #PDX #Bookcase (at Circa 33)
Holy shit. Slipknot is complete and the party kicked ass.
The crew experienced routine technical difficulties during the setup. Projector won't project. Necessary chords aren't present. Prize wheel has no prizes. However, it all came together just in time for people to start flooding in at 8pm to the Circa 33 private room. I left with maybe 15 people there, and when I returned, the place was over the 50 person capacity. It remained that way throughout the night, which forced the bartenders to stop serving and kick people out to the main bar.
At the height of capacity we rolled out the massive 8 foot screen and cued up the mic. It was time to unveil the 12DGoJB puppet show by the Monica, Jennifer, and crew.
Monica coined the term "Bie-beer" in her blog post about the show. I'm jealous I didn't think of it first. The puppet show was hilarious and had everyone laughing throughout. I was very impressed with the birthing scene where the Peruvian Flute Player was shaking her leg like a piston in sync with Slipknot's rage fist pumping. I could not have been more impressed with what they produced.
Next, we had a special unveil of Raghav's long-awaited dance recital video. I'm happy to finally stop receiving flack for not getting this done.

Lastly, the question of whether or not I completed the Slipknot end of the project was addressed with this video.
12 Degrees of Justin Bieber: Did I make it? from Alexander Broderick-Forster on Vimeo.
The party resumed and the photo-booth got a lot of action. The prize wheel was spinning for the rest of the night and everyone watched as the Justin Bieber wig went from guy to girl to guy to girl all around the party. I'm sorry but I'm not sorry that I made WIG the biggest slice of the pie on the prize wheel. The Justin Bieber full-size cutout was passed around the party as well, joining people in photos and in the photobooth. He got more action than anyone else last night.
Next up we cleared the floor for Danny and Dustin to perform their joint rap. We don't have video up yet, but I saw some cameras aimed at them for the whole amazing performance and I intend on tracking it down. Maybe that video will get produced with the same urgency as Raghav's dance recital.
Thankyou everyone for coming out and for your support. Thankyou Monica, Jen, Bridget, Levi, Lee, Michelle, John, and Jeff for making the best puppet show I've ever seen. Thankyou KD and Gretchen for doing one hell of a job stocking this party with ideas, planning so much, and for being overall party ambassadors. You kicked ass. Thankyou Danny and Dustin for putting together the tightest rap and beat I've heard in a long time. "This just in, my _____ in Justin." Thankyou Kasey and Steve for making that crazy playlist that was broken up by mood to orchestrate the night. Thankyou Clinton for all the expensive sound equipment that replaced Steve's computer speakers as primary audio blasters. Thankyou Alanna for the use of your projector. Thankyou Bologna Sandwich for making such a kickass logo and brand design. You made us legit. Thankyou Wordstock for having us exhibit and supporting my creative endeavors. Last and most of all, thank you Raghav for having the balls and the follow-through to do the Yes Man Project and for being an all-around awesome individual and dependable friend. You've really shaped my Portland experience for the better.
