For this first column I shall introduce myself.
I am Circe Quest, a 4th year student at Hogwarts. My house is Hufflepuff, I’m a proud badger! I am a muggleborn witch. I am 14 now and my birthday is 9 may. As extra classes (with my regular classes) I take Muggle Studies and Care of Magical Creatures. I have long brown hair, brown eyes and am fairly small. I love horror movies and period drama’s. I love to read books about greek mythology, scary dystopian worlds and fantasy adventures with dragons. I sing along with musicals all the time.
Well, this week was amazing. We not only had a fantastic banquet in the Great Hall, but us Hufflepuff’s also organized a party in our dorm. We had got some food from the House Elves, who say they like our house the most, and made some colorful decorations in our free time. Some of the ghosts participated in many of our games, such as ‘Piss Your Pants’, which basically is, try to scare your friends as much and as hard as you can, and ‘Eat As Much Candy As You Can’. I dont really know why they participated in the last one though. We also dressed up and then trick or treated at the Professor’s offices and the other dorms. The latter didn’t open their doors though. We partied for hours and hours, until the House Elves asked us if they ‘finally could clean the place’.
On the 1st of November me and my Huffie friends started to sing Christmas Songs until the teachers got mad at us. Professor McGonnagall said, and I quote, ‘It is far too early for that nonsense’. After the classes we started making Christmas Decorations and set up a Christmas Tree.
Also, my Muggle Studies classes are fantastically interesting. I know, as muggleborn I should normally know everything about Muggles, but seeing them through the eye of wizards and witches is very funny and interesting.
In History of Magic we also learned that Harry Potter, the boy who lived, participated in the Triwizard Tournament in his 4th year. I couldn’t imagine how I would feel if that was me!
Sometimes I feel quite stupid around magical people, because they all know everything there is to know about the great Harry Potter, but I don’t, since I grew up in the Muggle community. But on the other hand, if I talk to my friends about Jeniffer Lawrence or Shailene Woodley, two of my favourite actresses, they don’t know what I’m talking about. Except the Halfbloods. They have the best of both worlds.
