A crowd had gathered around the Circle of Doom where all sat in the Shadow of the Night. Yavanna stood on the Ezellohar, the Green Hill, now barren and black, and she laid her hands down on the branches of the Two Trees. They were dead. Every branch she touched broke and fell to her feet, lifeless. She spoke to the Valar:
"The Light of the Trees has passed, and now only lives on in Fëanor's Silmarils. He was gifted with foresight! Even for those most powerful beneath Illúvatar, there are works they can only fulfill once."
She could not recreate the Trees, but she could use the light of the Silmarils to bring life back to the Trees, before their roots had withered fully.
So Mänwe spoke to Fëanor: "Hear ye, Fëanor, son of Finwë, the words of Yavanna? Will you grant her request?"
A long silence fell. Fëanor did not reply.
Tulkas urged him on, but Aulë, the Maker, stood up for Fëanor: "Do not be hasty! Our request is greater than you know. Give him time."
But Fëanor spoke bitterly: "For those who are lesser than the mighty, there are also works they can only produce once, and in those works his heart remains. I could grant you my jewels once, but never again shall I be able to make their like again. If I were to break them, my own heart would break as well, and it would slay me, the first to be slain of all the Eldar in Aman."
"Not the first," spoke Mandos, but none understood. And silence fell once more within the Circle.

Circle Of Doom

I'm kinda curious, what would happen if Dean met Bowman before he was reunited with Sam? Would he shoot first and ask questions later? Or would he still realise that Bowman is a person and attempt to be gentle?
Dean often does shoot first, ask questions later. In this situation, though, Bowman’s a small enough threat that if Dean finds him, he’ll probably just grab the small and bitchy green leafy thing to find out what it is, and they’d end up sassing back and forth for ten years before getting anywhere useful (without Sam or Jacob, there is no one to break the circle of doom those two can get stuck in).
Dean might be a hunter, but he prefers to think through a case when it doesn’t make sense, and considering the worst this leafy green guy did was bite him, it doesn’t look as though he’s out here, slinging magic and turning wolves against campers. They’d have a very awkward relationship, but they might manage it!
Bowman would definitely make things interesting for him. The little guy hides his fears with yet more snark, so it wouldn’t be immediately obvious that he’s freaked out by this human wandering around with guns and huge blasted knives, grabbing the fastest sprite in Wellwood out of the air. Dean would get quite a tirade of sprite swears shouted at him, in between Bowman trying to kick him and bite him.
As soon as he gets out of the jar, he swears he’s gonna bop that giant into submission.
