Amandil of Andúnië in Númenor

The last Lord of Andúnië, father of Elendil, grandfather of Isildur and Anárion, former best friend and advisor of Ar-Pharazôn, leader of the Faithful and friend of the Elves

It was thanks to him that Elendil and the Faithful were saved

Amandil is my favorite character from the Fall of Númenor, his relationship with Ar-Pharazôn is underrated and his fate itself is tragic

“The days are dark, and there is no hope in Men, for the Faithful are few. Therefore I am minded to try that counsel which our forefather Eärendil took of old, to sail into the West, be there ban or no, and to speak to the Valar, even to Manwë himself, if may be, and bessech his aid ere all is lost.”
