Circle Monsters
Paul suggested I try reworking my 5 circle monsters digitally and so I turned it into a little side project to keep me busy. A monster a day, each with a different colour scheme. After reading Josef Alber’s Interaction of Colour, part of my goal with this project was to play around with colour pairings and I enjoyed experimenting with bright colours to match the monsters’ various expressions. Each monster was posted separately so they each had their own colour pairing but I also wanted to make sure they could be lined up next to each other and (while showing off quite the range of colours) not clash.
Some of the monsters ended up with more than five circles because I wanted to keep it consistent with them all having pupils but I didn’t mind since my focus here was more on experimenting with the colours and pairings than sticking strictly to my original designs.
I’ve collected a few of the monsters here. You can see them all on my Twitter and Instagram.
