After a bit of a late start trying to find out where to buy bus tickets in Centro Bariloche, we finally got on Bus 20 and headed out check out the bike rental shops near the start of circuito chico Bariloche.

Of the two options, decided on Cordillera Bikes as we could keep the bikes until 7:30pm, were 10 pesos cheaper (200 ARG pesos) and still had bikes for tall people (like me).  It’s a good idea to pre-reserve bikes apparently because both bike shops were running low by 12:30.

Circuito chico Bariloche is a 27 kilometer bike ride through Nahuel Huapi National Park, a very hilly ride however it is really worth it considering some of the beautiful views you can enjoy along the way.

We had decided to also check out Colonial Suiza, a small Swiss mountain village 25km from Bariloche.  Luckily as we pedaled the dirt-road into town heaven appeared before us, Berlina brewery…

After some beer tastings and pints, we were off to hit the viewpoint Punto Panormico which offered the best 180 degree views of Circuito Chico Bariloche:

Made it back to Cordillera Bikes just in time and then jumped on another bus headed back to town, but first wanted to enjoy Cerveceria Blest, which is the oldest craft brewery in Argentina.

I opted for a pint of Blest Frambuesa, which is a raspberry lambic ale which was a nice refreshing beer to enjoy with salad and pizza after an epic day of mountain biking on Circuito Chico Bariloche.

Yeap, slow-traveling can have its inconveniences once in a while. Almost at the end of our trip we got stuck in the Chilean city of Osorno, a normal-&-busy-urban-center-with-nothing-interesting-to-see (not to be confused with the volcano Osorno)! But since it has a major central bus stop we had to wait until we could move on to Bariloche in Argentina. Well, we took advantage of this and made a one-day city tour to Valdivia, a pretty town by the water (there are 18 rivers and streams here). And we saw a LOT of wild sea lions enjoying the sunny weather as much their human neighbors! The following day we finally moved on with our trip. Following stop: Bariloche, a famous ski center in Argentina, which has much more to offer than just that. Located in the beautiful Lake District, going around its "lagos" is a delight for the eyes and soul! We cycled all along the Circuito Chico and we almost had to stop every other km to take pictures of the astonishing view!!! Do come and visit this place!
